- Well cast

- I like the music

- Slow

- Not a AAA budget. Fewer extras, simpler sets, CGI is lower quality.

- The writing isn't great

Took forever for them to get all the exposition out there. First 2 episodes were poorly edited, too.

I expect it to get much better.

The editing is really messy.

I read that the show has a budget of 80 million, compared to the early season of GOT at 50 or 60 million.

Where did that money go?

I've watched 4 episodes. It's good. It's not great. I feel like it's not as badass as it wants to be. The titties are random and confusing. Hunchback sex was weird, but hot. The main sorceress governess lady does it for me. Really hoping to see her naked at some point in the future.

I've been able to follow (with a couple of rewinds) the names and situations, but I'm just not sure it's meeting all of my fantasy needs.

Still, it's worth finishing out. It's Netflix so I won't have to think about it for another year anyway.

5 episodes in I gotta say I've been extremely impressed. Cavill is killing it as geralt, and ciri, yen, and dandelion were all very well cast.

It's also following the books better than almost any adaptation I've ever seen (some minor condensing of stories, but following extremely closely otherwise).

My only disappointment so far is that the first wish from the short story the last wish wasn't used in the same amusing fashion as the story.

And as mentioned the cgi could be a bit better. fight choreography is outstanding though.

This is better than I expected. Triss is the only negative for me.

But for real, they could if just made her a red head.

I'm not a fan of the triss casting myself, but this show is following the books, and she's not a redhead in the books.

Loving the show so far. I can forgive the cgi. Having trouble with Triss though as she’s my #1 wish she were real woman.

That’s Yennefer of Vengerberg. I imagine she’ll get more attractive.

I'm pretty sure he basically demanded to do this.

It still amazes me how the critics on rotten tomatoes are so off on what fans want. This show is a ton of fun to watch and has a different fantasy world than what people are used to. If you're looking for Game of Thrones clone this isn't it.

So Geralt and Ciri are obviously on a different timeline in the show. Geralt shows up to Cintra in episode 4 and the city still stands?

haven't read the books or played the games. It doesn't feel like the kind of show that should have titties in it. And yet, it does.

I've never played the games or read the books, but I watched the first episode and it was entertaining enough to stick with it.

That said, was that Renfri princess chick supposed to have such a small role? It seemed like a lot of the episode was building up her story...

And is there anything else someone new to the franchise should know that would help fill in the blanks?

It's a one off story that's only really used to help show you who Geralt is.

The first two books in the series are basically Dandelion chronicalling Geralts travels, and lots of exposition to explain the world he lived in.
