Like I said the comics are very graphic and the show does not really follow them. But why is it fine to Discuss the Song of Fire and Ice saga in the Game of Thrones threads?

I'm pretty sure if I busted up in the first episode of season 2 of GoT telling everyone what was about to happen, that there would be many, many people bitching.

so because I don't want to read the comic I should just accept the fact that you're going to post spoilers?

This should be a place for people who do not know what is coming, but are willing to go wherever the discussion and analysis leads. IMO, people who have read the comics, as well as people who want to maintain total plot innocence should just stay out.

Exactly. Yet that is not what's happening. Although "total plot innocence" is relegated to someone who only watches the show. Guessing based SOLELY (key word) on what we've seen in the show isn't "ruining" anything, because it's unknown and pure guesswork.

Also Laugh Out Motherfricking Loud, for a person who watches a show about Zombies based on a comic book, discussing it in a internet chat forum and taking everything to heart calling other people nerds.

If you can't see the vastly different worlds, I don't know what to tell you.

I get that the two are not the same, but you can't discuss Game of Thrones without mentioning the author of the books. Why is it so taboo to mention comics here. I don't give a shite about Game of Thrones, don't even know what it is.

Why is a comic so taboo?

It's not. What you do in your own time is not my concern.

Why are so few willing to read into it? To continue out a different story line from characters you are obviously engrossed in.

I read enough. I don't want to read a comic.

Since we appear to be getting nowhere, I think the easiest solution is to just not read these threads anymore. They don't really offer anything anyway. Enjoy

If this was just show discussion this thread would be dead.

Also my post you are referring to asked a question right? and the answer was no, she wasn't. I'm just trying to point out a difference. Without ever saying for sure what the status of Sophia is. In fact I don't know if she was ever on a cover, as I have never actually seen the comic book. Just read some pdfs.

I'm just playing devil's advocate because I believed in what Baloo said and thing Cocco and others are acting douchey, and I'm bored.

Other than the BS thing I posted about a comic book cover that wasn't even correct, I have posted no spoilers.
Not even speculation.
I just think most of you guys are funny, in how serious you are taking this.

Maybe that is the true goal, get all of the butthurt people out of these threads, so we can all enjoy them without all the crying all the time.

The fact of the matter is that if you have read the comics, ANY speculation about what could happen in the future should be off limits in a non-spoiler thread. Yes there are storylines the show has that the comics didnt, but still, any rational person should be able to deduce where they are going with the show.

I knew immediately the "secret" Jenner told Rick was that all humans now come back as zombies and that the show was leading to Carl killing Shane.

Its just dumb to even speculate about what could happen when you already know so much.

I may read the comics after the show is done. I'd rather leave them as separate things. If you want to create yet another thread for another subgroup of WD fans who want to follow the show and comic at the same time, then fine. This thread is on the Movie/TV board, so it's safe to assume that this discussion is for the TV show only.

But you don't. To you, obviously someone who likes the show should read the comics. You even say as much here:
quote:

Why are so few willing to read into it? To continue out a different story line from characters you are obviously engrossed in.

Why can't you just accept that all people aren't the same as you, and they may not care or want to read the comics?

I assure you that I don't care if you read the comics or not. All I am asking is that you don't take that knowledge and inject into threads specifically made for NO comic discussion...take it into the numerous threads where that knowledge and discussion is welcomed and encouraged. It's that simple.

The comics aren't taboo, just some people don't care to read them or want/need to know what's in them.

Basically, yes. At least that's what it seems like he's getting at.

And it's obviously bullshite.

Well, that's obviously not true because the thread was about 20 pages long before I even saw it. And there has been solid show discussion since I've been posting. The whole "spoiler" argument has been around long before this thread..it's just one that keeps coming up because people don't have the common courtesy to not be dicks and spoil things for other people.

Whether you've actually seen the physical comic book or read them online is irrelevant. You've read them. You know the information in them. And thus, you have the power to potentially spoil shite for people who don't want to know what's in there. Hopefully you can respect that and only post that information (and your guesses/opinions based on that information) in the threads designed for that. I'll cross my fingers.

I can't make someone not post in this thread. I'd just like to think that we're all adults here and one would be courteous enough to realize that information they have from the comics would potentially spoil shite for people who haven't read them, and would thus post accordingly.

Ah, there's your faulty assumption...

..and you're trolling. But no big deal. I wish Baloo was still here because I can actually debate with him. And I'm bored as well, which is why I'm still arguing at this point. So no hard feelings...I know you're not as stupid as you're pretending to be. You can't be.

They will tell you that it is an inherent point in all zombie media though (I've seen lots of Z movies and don't recall it once...it's always been the whole "if you get bit.." thing).

You can keep trying to claim that it is not a very common element in zombie films that everyone is infected, but it won't make it true.

It's like trying to claim that someone posted a spoiler when they state that Vampires can't go into the sunlight.

Go back and watch George Romero's zombie flicks of which almost all modern zombie films are based on his universe. One of the first true modern zombie flicks in 1968's Night of the Living Dead everyone was infected.

Everyone being infected is an extremely common element in the zombie universe.

They haven't discussed the comics in any detail at all, that I have seen. What happened with Michone was completely benign. They announced the actress that was playing the part. (Frankly, I would have had her pull the hood back after killing the walker, if I was writing the script.)

I don't think they had cast the actress yet at that point, so they went with the hood to obscure the person's identity until they had someone.
