Talk all you want about the prison, but stupid comments like, OMG its the prison, just wait for the awesome badassness to come, are uncalled for.
This is exactly how I feel. Calling it a prison is not spoilerish. You can see it is a prison with your own eyes. We had no way of knowing all kind of craziness was going to happen there. I saw what looked like boobs on the sword chick. Her name doesn't really bother me, but anything past that is spoilers.

Hunger Games this weekend have read the books.
exactly, I have never read the book, but like with any hyped movie based on a book, I probably will.
I just wish the anti-book people would look at the books and see how different they are. (Also how brilliant they are)
Butt hurt people would call this a spoiler, but season two was the search for Zombie Sophia... but wasn't she on the cover of issue #93?
I mean come on, yet I bet there were people who who thought people guessing about Sophia in the barn were "comic book people trying to spoil it for everyone"

Well, one would hope that they can police themselves and not shite on non spoiler threads, but apparently not.

What I don't get is, when a movie based on a book comes out, everyone compares it the two. People will go out and read the book. People will discuss what was different or similar. Like how dark Jurassic park was supposed to be. Is that movie spoiled if one mentions dinosaurs escaped the island in it? No because the movie never followed the book.
You are comparing an ongoing, open ended show to a 2 hour movie.

TWD very loosely follows the book. I don't get why the Fire and Ice crowd has no problem reading 5,000+ pages to get into the story, while TWD crowd can't read a couple of 20 page comics.
So you are implying that the same posters that read a book will not read a comic? I don't read either.

Of course its not a spoiler. If you're honest, and you haven't read the comics, its a guess like anyone elses'.
I'm glad you said that, because that is what I think should be welcomed in these threads. It's been said, though, that some people "want to be completely surprised," and it's implied that they should be protected. If we do that, then these threads will just be pages and pages of "holy shite!" or "how awesome was that!"
This should be a place for people who do not know what is coming, but are willing to go wherever the discussion and analysis leads. IMO, people who have read the comics, as well as people who want to maintain total plot innocence should just stay out.

I don't get it either. I know 80% of people going see Hunger Games this weekend have read the books
A) There are a lot of people who started this show before knowing that is was based on a comic (me). Once people start the show and you are intrigued by the unknown, its not surprising that they want to start reading the comics/books beforehand which could give away the rest of the show.
B)Comics aren't the most popular source of literature
Game of thrones has been a very popular book and series for how long now...and it is what created the buzz for the show. Its seems quite a bit more understandable that people would have read the books or would want to read the books because of their popularity.
For the majority, TWD comics aren't the most popular and are not what gave the shows its early popularity.

Yeah... people would have (erroneously) thought that. I wonder why?
You know what? frick it. Do whatever the frick you want. Bye.

What forces you to talk about the comic book in THIS thread? Just shut the frick up about the comic book and everything would end. We don't give a shite. Take it to another thread

That wasn't my point. I was simply saying that I don't understand the exception to the norm Walking Dead is with the separation of the literature and the show. As with almost any other program or film the notion of a film causes more people to read what will happen before they see the film.

The difference is that this is not a movie that is done with in 2 hours! See the movie or not, but eventually you'll learn all the plot twists regardless. This is a series that take literally YEARS to play out--and some of us would like to enjoy it without knowing the major plot twists.
How can you folks defending spoilers not just see and respect that? And why continue all this mental masturbation discussing this in a non-spoiler discussion of the TV show?

THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT THE COMIC. Honestly, I had no idea a comic even existed until I read it here. I stay out of nerd world

Because it's speculation based on the knowledge of what's in the books.

No, everyone doesn't. People who have read/seen both do. This thread is not for that kind of discussion...it's for people who only watch the show. There are ALL kinds of threads for "comic discussion," "spoiler discussion," "comic vs. the show discussion," etc. This thread is for the show and only the show (at least it's supposed to be).

TWD very loosely follows the book.
Right. It follows it. So someone who has read it knows the general direction and major plotlines (and likely some minor ones).
I don't understand how people can't realize that even though the show may not follow the comics word for word, it's still source material for the show. And because of that, people who have read the comics are on another level of discussion than people who haven't. That's why there are threads attempting to separate the discussions to keep it fair for everyone (or why some people who have read them don't say shite about them in here).
It really shouldn't be that hard.

Neither did I, I still never read an actual comic book, just a couple of pdf's on my e-reader.
Also Laugh Out Motherfricking Loud, for a person who watches a show about Zombies based on a comic book, discussing it in a internet chat forum and taking everything to heart calling other people nerds.
I get that the two are not the same, but you can't discuss Game of Thrones without mentioning the author of the books. Why is it so taboo to mention comics here. Like I said the comics are very graphic and the show does not really follow them. But why is it fine to Discuss the Song of Fire and Ice saga in the Game of Thrones threads?
Why is a comic so taboo?
Why are so few willing to read into it? To continue out a different story line from characters you are obviously engrossed in.

Do you honestly not understand that your statement above is 100% supported by having read the comics? How the hell would anyone who hasn't read/seen the comics know that Sophia is on the cover of issue 93?
This is ridiculous...I guess I don't understand how people can't police themselves on this. Like I said earlier, I can't make someone not post in this thread. I'd just like to think that we're all adults here and one would be courteous enough to realize that information they have from the comics would potentially spoil shite for people who haven't read them, and would thus post accordingly.
It really is that simple. Yet here we are, countless pages of arguing/discussion, and we're not any closer to a resolution. And on top of that, it's still happening in the "Show discussion/no spoilers" threads.
And even on top of that, some comic-readers are still trying to justify themselves and their spoilers. It's unreal. I mean seriously...zombie Sophia is on the cover is fricking issue #93, so clearly that's not a spoiler? Really?

There seems to always be 2 separate threads for the show...one for spoilers from the book and one without. There were no problems with that.

I mean I don't think you really need an explanation for why people don't want to read up on the potential future plot lines of a show they like, especially with as many cliffhangers as the TWD has.
