Not poking holes in the plot, but the editing: Did y'all notice when Darryl was at the bottom of the hill with Merle standing over him that Darryl had dirt all over his face, then it was clean, then it was dirty, then clean. I've always wondered how someone doesn't catch the obvious ones before it is released.

Daryl just hallucinated a clean face.

Except the other Shane is a 10x better actor.
I say Sophia is alive and held by some very bad people.

If you were crazy/paranoid and had money, you'd build an underground bunker(before apocalypse) done up to look like a nice house or whatever. Be close by a river/stream/lake for fish(maybe) and fresh water. Build a pretty big greenhouse(think cottage size but about 12ft high) around the opening of the bunker(made out of real strong glass) for vegetables, fruits, whatever. Watch tower type of structure to pick off nearby zeds. Top of the greenhouse would be like a grate so you always get air and sometimes rainwater. Six months rations. Finally if you don't know, you can run your whole residence completely electric company free as of right now and as long as you have the know how to repair/maintenance things, you'll never be without electricity.
Gas mask and tough clothing to completely cover you(if you can't chew through it, they can't either) when out of the dome/greenhouse. If you're hot when going out like this, there is some clothing being made(should be out next year) that cools you down when you sweat good for 50 washes but I would not wash it at all to keep longer.
Melee- work tools, knives, machete, sword, training and daily practice)
Bow- crossbow, arrows chiseled out of wood(I wouldn't take them out after a kill and reuse), training and daily practice)
Guns- I wouldn't really need guns so a revolver with hundred bullets, know how of bullet making.
Farming, water filtering, and repair/carpentry know how, weapon training, at tons and tons of old TV shows, movies, and video games to ride it out.
Think, these zeds are already dead, they can't digest, after a while it would be no blood splatter because all body fluids would be gone. My thinking is after a year or two most will be just skeletons, except for a few dumbasses still getting killed.
You don't have to keep traveling around to survive(knowledge is power) and as long as you are alone you only need to worry about your safety. Or if you have a few people, make the rules and NEVER break them for anyone.
I've thought about this a few times before but never in this much detail. Has been pouring out as I type, I like these kind of survival scenarios though.

You will be fine until discovered by feral humans. At best you will be kicked out without your stuff. At worst killed.
The best thing to do is hide stuff all over. The more time you have, the more stuff and locations. Geocache everything and just migrate around. If you get mugged or your stash is discovered, you still have plenty other stashes.

Would you like to join our group?

Is rick still trying to reach the black guy who helped him out in the first episode last season? They kinda dropped that storyline completely with nothing else coming of it.

Excellent question. I would assume he still broadcast, but I have no idea really.

Wasn't the zombie that attacked darryl chewing on his leg? Maybr it was his boot.
Had to be the most retarded zombie of them all...guy just lying there helpless and the zombie staggers up and immediately starts chewing on....
the boot.
Darryl must have a HUGE horse shoe up his arse.

I want that dude back in the story. He actually seemed like a cool character.

He was a badass in Jericho. He would be a good addition to the Walking Dead group.

It's a zombie!
They aren't known for solving calculus problems.

I'm sort of disappointed so far with the new season.
There isn't enough zombie stuff like in the first season. It's centered too much around the owner of that farm and the divide that obviously will come between him and Rick's group.

I feel like last week is the beginning of the upswing though

Have not read the whole thread so forgive me if this has been said but I don't believe Herschel has the zombies because he is working in a cure. I believe he has them because he is waiting for a cure and the barn zombies are turned friends and family.

Notice that no mention has been made of Herschel's wife. She couldn't have been old enough for Herschel to be a regular widower. Herschel has 22 year old and I think one of the teenagers is his kid. Assuming at the latest his wife had the last one at 35-40, she'd only be in her mid to late 50s.
The wife is in the barn.

Did they ever say the old black guys name? I don't remember.

I'm pretty sure that's the general consensus in this thread. It lines right up with his earlier conversation with Rick.
Does anyone know when the last episode before they take their winter break is?
Posted on 11/16/11 at 10:48 am to Murray
I believe there are 3 more episodes, then a two month break, then 8 more. So they will re start end of Feb?
