Thats why if you notice I am not a part of team moat or moat boat or moat in a moat while on a boat thats in a moat or whatever the frick else it has became.

But if you're constantly firing off rounds to kill solitary zombies you're going to be dead in a very short period of time. You should always have water and non perishable food on you in case of emergencies or you will be dead in a very short period of time. You should be wearing as much protective equipment as possible at all times or you will be dead in a very short period of time. If you use bladed weapons without the necessary skill to use bladed weapons you will be dead in a very short period of time.

EDIT: Bengal it is decaying flesh I'm pretty sure that even if the virus dies the meat will still kill you

Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but when they first got to Herschel's house when he said something about them needing to eventually move on... didn't he say they weren't the first to stop by their farm?

Could the barn zombies be people who have stopped by before?

Also am I the only one who expects Herschel to throw Glen in the zombie barn moat for banging his daughter? He's already caught on and Dale really emphasized how dumb it was of Glen to be bangin her because it would really piss Herschel off.

Also to add to the moat conversation, as somebody else has said the bodies will build up. Thus you'd have to make the moat pretty deep. But you could incorporate some sort of chopping mechanism like lawn mowers or fire to burn the bodies down once they're in the moat.

Honorable mention should be given to quicksand or a good gumbo / buckshot type ground. That at the bottom of a moat would be excellent

I thought this was mentioned in the comic thread. not gonna give away any spoilers so I won't repeat what was said in it but go look, it was about darryl with the ears in his mouth.

by the way frick cooking dead zombie flesh, you can always find food.

the more PPE you have on the more energy you will exast running. I outrun you, you get eaten first. water and food is heavy, you might could care some water and food but it would not be enough to survive very long.

remember all I've got to do is outrun you or shoot you in the knee (shane and otis) so the more shite you are wearing or carrying helps me.

Water and Food can be dropped if need be. Food you could possibly do without at times. At the very least a few crackers should be carried though. You should ALWAYS I repeat frickING ALWAYS have at least a canteen full of water on you. That should be on your side before your weapon is.

I'm not talking about going out there like a medieval knight in full plate and helm. But if saliva can spread the virus so can blood and other bodily fluids. No piece of your skin should be showing. Especially your eyes and mouth.

I do better by myself anyway. If my family is dead then I will be by myself and only interact with living people when I need to.

Yes you do need to carry some water and a little food on you, but not too much that it will wear you down.

Your a fool if you don't think that maybe except for family that it won't be every man or woman for himself during the zombie appocalypse.

I watched a zombie movie on SYFY last week (zombie apoccalypse) and dude had on a pair of football shoulder pads. I was thinking damn I remember how heavy those were in high school when I was 18 and in really good shape.

my understanding on the blood, saliva, etc... comes from the discussion on the comic crossover thread. I'm solely basing my need for alot of PPE based on that assumption.

I saw that too and it sounds more like a writer cop out to me. It just doesn't make sense. I'm talking about in a sense that if this really happened the disease would be transferred by any bodily fluids and even if it wasn't you couldn't possibly know that. Better to be safe.

And I think that most people would try their damndest to keep their initial "pack" together. If for nothing else than just something familiar to hold on too. Like I don't think Shane would've ever have done that to say Darryl but since Otis was not a part of his "pack" he had no problem sacrificing him for the better of his pack.

It's the same reason they went back for merle and continue searching for sophia after they pretty much know they are dead. You can say you would stay away from people but the human being is a social creature he needs those interactions. Look at what happens to people after long periods of isolation. They go bat shite insane, the human psyche can not handle it.

I think the little girl is still alive, I don't know why but it seems kids have an uncanny ability to survive where as adults do the stupidist things and then they become some zombies lunch.

I just couldn't trust anyone I didn't know. Maybe at first I would be part of a pack but in time I would be more prone to go by myself. It sometimes is easier to survive alone than in a group.

it could be like a resident evil type virus, it initially spread by air but after a certain period of time you could only be infected by a bite or getting it in your blood stream (nemasis).

I think she is still alive because I dont think the show spends this much time looking for a dead girl but in the real world the bitch is dead.

And anything is possible with the virus but I wouldn't be taking chances until I knew absolutely for certain.

I also think it would be much harder for you to leave that pack than you think. Its going against thousands of years of evolutionary instincts.

28 days later, the old man catches a drop of blood in his eye from a dead body above him and turns.

Eye protection and mouth covering seems like a must. As much as these people are bashing zombies faces in with bats and other objects with blood flying all over them, you would think there would be some sort of facial protection. Seems like all it would take is one stray drop of blood to hit you in the eye or mouth and you'd turn, but they seem to have no worries about it as blood is flying

it'll probbly be some story about your have to have the virus/venom directly injected into the blood stream from a bite or wound.

All I know is they better hurry this up. The Sophia saga has drawn on way too long.

Also I don't think any of you non-boat-moat people quite understand. The Zombies will never know we are there because we're at least 30 feet up from the ground. They would only notice us if someone got busted going on on the day.

Herschel doesn't strike me as the type of guy who would kill an innocent person (no matter how guilty sticking his daughter makes glenn) but that could be the point of his character, setting up an unexpected turn.

i would think with him being a dr (well vet) he's probably trying to experiment/come up with a cure a la i am legend. (i feel like this has been mentioned in this thread siap)

that said if i was facing a zombie apocalypse i might risk zombie moat barn to get with maggie.

Why is everyone bitching about them searching for Sophia? They can't leave the farm yet anyway. Would you find it more interesting if they just sat on the farm and told stories from their pasts? Hell, the search for Sophia is the only reason we've had any zombie action and has helped develop two of the best character on the show(Darryl/Shane).

Besides that, Darryl keeps finding signs that she is likely alive. I understand that it has drug on, but the show hasn't ignored that fact. That decision to keep looking is why you all are liking Shane's arc.

And what do you do when someone makes a foolish mistake and brings 500 walkers from hell down upon you?

Cause now that you've involved the boat you've just put yourself in a fairly urban place. Gonna be plenty of Walkers around.

You say your moat will protect you. 20 ft by 12ft is some where around the figures you threw out right? I'm guessing it can hold around 10-20 zombies in any one location before the taller ones are climbing over. after another 10-20 pile up any that are intact are coming over. Congratulations you've just given them natural selection only the strong can eat you now.

So you're looking at tops 60-70 zombies your moat will hold if a centralized attack comes. Being in an urban area thats just not good enough.

agreed. they are stuck at the farm till karl recovers.

shane's arc reminds me of another shane on "the shield".

i'm enjoying this show and don't need it to be a FPS to enjoy it.

i know people like poking LOST sized holes in this show but it's the nature of the beast (like the walker that started eating daryl at his shoe. what a stupid walker!!!! if you have a subdued meal you go for the face and delicious brains.)
