I would say the culmination. He resumed his sheriff role and realized that Carol was right to teach the kids how to handle weaponry. You can try your best to have a community, but you can't be in denial about what's right outside the fence.

Which is interesting in part because it parallels with exactly what the Governor was doing in Woodbury preparing for the attack from the prison. If you will recall, the Governor even had the kid with asthma learning to shoot a gun for protection to the kid's mother's dismay.

But then you have to drag the bodies through the prison. I think they're trying to keep it as clean as possible.

I do like the disease angle this season. It's always interesting when they bring up the fact that not only do you have to worry about walkers, but sickness and the dangers of life in general will also rear their head.

This season has been good.

Season 2 has to rank among the worst on TV.

So I have been thinking about this a little more today...

What might be a good idea would be to either build a pit somewhat near the fence (on the inside) with another fence that would funnel them to the pit, or having something like that which leads to the aforementioned loading dock (if there is one at the prison).

Bait the trail for the zombies to follow to the pit, then light the fire and let them continue to wander in and burn up. If you start getting too many in the pit, just close the gate at the fence until the fire burns down.

I would still put it above the last 2 seasons of Heroes. Or any episode of Cop Rock.

My extensive experience playing Age of Empires 2 makes me think a baited funnel strategy would work very well against the walkers.

You would leave yourself open to humans though.

It still is for me. I want to see them out of the prison back on the road. There is a whole world out there full of zombie adventures if the writers would just stop being lazy.

Just make sure it's manned at all times. I'm sure Glenn and Maggie would put some boink-time in there.

Is it just me or should all of the characters act like Carol at this point? She went from a sniveling, crying, weak person, to a bad mofo. I would think everyone would act like this after being through so much.

Some folks have probably been sheltered too much, especially the folks from Woodbury.

Does anyone have the preview of EP3 that played on Talking Dead? I've looked for it on youtube and AMC.com, but I can't find it.

I looked as well and could not find anything either

I very much beg to differ on this opinion. While S2 wasn't up to par with the first season I found it very interesting in it's own right.

Last season to me was a study on the "human nature/human variable" of the ZA. Though it wasn't as fast paced as the season prior, it did have a lot of interesting points with twists and turns. S2 to me was very well done for what it was ... it focused on the human aspect of the ZA and showed people their was more to worry about in the ZA than just the zombies.

The reason I say it was done well is because a few episodes into last season I almost forgot that the zombies were there and the only thing that matter was the struggle between The Group and Woodbury.

Whereas I like this change of pace and interesting look into the new social dynamic of the ZA, I will admit I am more than pleasantly happy that we are getting back to the roots.

Zombie killin' and zombies killing.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and I will say so far both episodes have me counting down the time until the next one airs.

ETA: This rant actually applies to S2 & S3 ... mainly S3 though.

I can give you a rundown, if you want.

ETA: Speaking of talking dead, I really enjoy when they have the effects guys as guests. I love hearing how they do all the practical effects for a show like this. Its really interesting to me. Thats what the Mythbusters did before they were Mythbusters, and most of those guys are pretty creative.

It looks like they are really ramping up the Zombie threat. Not only for the sake of the thrills inherent in zombie attacks. But because they can provide a vehicle for the human/human and human/self conflict. I think they are accomplishing both things well thus far.

Maybe, or it might be located in an outbuilding. All depends on the layout.

Either way they need more fire.

I think they got a little too focused on this and it's good to see that they are starting to find a good balance again.

As I said earlier, there was a point I almost forgot about the zombies because of the whole Woodbury debacle ... we are at a point that "The Group" (writers) should never lose sight of what is going on around them (Zombies) but also should be well enough into the ZA that they shouldn't be wary of new people and what dangers they could bring. (Human/Human Conflict)

It's also nice to see them addressing concerns that are just as dangerous and threatening as new people and zombies with the "plague" that's going on. With the lack of modern medicine and readily available doctors to administer it, one could easily get sick and die of something as simple as a common cold ... and you tell me how much that could frick up a group holding out in a confined space from Zombie Hordes and people, you should know we just witnessed it.
