They waited way too long to introduce the intelligent zombie wrinkle but Scott Gimple is a fricking moron who delivered some of the laziest, most embarrassingly bad storytelling I've ever sat through. That kind of creativity was clearly well beyond his limited brainpower. I still can't figure out whose dick he sucked to keep the showrunner job for as long as he did.

I just decided to rewatch TWD after I don’t know how many years. I’ll see how far I get. Last time I quit after around the Tiger guy.

They should have never killed off Shane.

Damn, I forgot how good this show was for X number of seasons.

The zombies are also faster than I remember.

For real. Shane was already in season 10 mode by the time season 2 rolled around. Rick was a naive moron with too much suicidal empathy early on.

The show lost me when it became clear that people who turned into zombies would decay normally as if they were dead... but only to a certain point, that point being, "the point at which they look the zombie-est."

None of the zombies died naked or in their pajamas, except a few hospital patients. All others died fully clothed or wearing work uniforms. And the zombies' clothes lasted forever.

The bullet shortage was always dumb to me. If 90+% of the people on earth died, the ones who were left alive could find a lifetime supply of guns and ammo in my neighborhood, not to mention in sporting goods stores, military posts, police stations, etc.

My firearm of choice would have been a Ruger 10/22 semiauto .22 rifle with plenty of mags. Light weapon and ammo, with high capacity for popping zombie noggins quickly. I'd also have a nice broom-handle shaped piece of hickory with a sharpened nail on the end. Poke, poke, poke in their heads, going in and out easily.

But my biggest issue: Who was mowing the shoulders/ditches along the highways and all the yards and pastures? That shite would be overgrown to thickets in a year or two.

Yeah, one of the things that annoyed me was how rustic they lived. Kill off 90% of people and there is enough good shite for everyone. Clothes, shoes, everything.

Why go steal an ancient plow from the Smithsonian? There should be more modern farm equipment and simple plows available for everyone.

In one scene they find basically an untouched Walmart with a huge untouched liquor section. They run into a little trouble with like a dozen zombies and they run away. That store would have supplied them with almost everything they needed for a year or two.

This is something Zombieland got right.

Zombies are a stupid premise all around. If something did indeed cause your brain to “come to life”, your muscles cannot move if your heart isn’t beating blood. Therefore you cannot move.

But we accept this flawed premise to be entertained in the zombie genre.

But the walking dead did a proper show based on the accepted flawed premise.

The real issue in TWD universe is EVERYONE is infected. Everyone who dies becomes a zombie. So the numbers keep going up with every death.

I'm sorry TWD happened to you.

I wish I could do more.

Yeah the tiger saving Rick from being executed really did it for me. I didn't hate the Negan stuff like a lot of people did, but once we got to the Kingdom I was done.

anybody who died would become a zombie then how come if they got bit they'd become a zombie if the virus was already all up in their shite?

The bite wouldn't turn you to a Zombie. The bite would kill you, then the virus you already had would turn you to a Zombie.

What made it work were the non-Zombie characters. I really liked some of them and remember them vividly.

It depends on which Rick showed up. Sometimes he was badass and sometimes horrible dumbass or completely inept.

The first season was a masterpiece. If AMC hadn’t canned Darabont, it would have easily been on the level of shows like Breaking Bad and Lost.

Why didn’t Rick and company move north where frigid cold winters would freeze the zombies?
