That was a pretty scary one for sure. After I saw it I decided to read the book and I was a bachelor at the time living in a 100 yr. old raised house.

It never failed that the old house would creak and groan every time I got into that book late at night. Enough so that it raised the hair on the back of my neck and arms several times.

When I was a kid, Chucky used to mess with me and I couldn't sleep.

Also I was like 8 when my family took me to see blair witch project which I couldn't sit to watch more than 30 minutes before I cried to leave.

nowadays I love scary films.

More recently, Don't Breathe was a really well done film which freaked me out

The Shining...mental illness is real

Recently saw "The Thing" for the first time. I took the dog out late at night after watching and got such a disturbing chill thinking about the potential of it.

Jacob's Ladder (Jessie scene still gives me chills after seeing it a dozen times, and I ain't talking about the dance floor)

The Witch (scariest movie I've seen since Jacob's Ladder)

As a kid I was scared of Freddy. Not that the movies themselves were scary, just that some dude could frick you up in a dream and there wasn't a think you could do about it.

Saw The Exorcist as a kid, and it fricked me up for a while.

Poltergeist and the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers had me messed up after seeing them as a kid.

Jaws scared me too...that drowned guys head popping up in front of the Dreyfus under water. Geez.

Alien was a scary movie to watch but didn’t have a lingering effect.

The original Friday the 13th was the first horror movie I’d ever seen. Several of us kids watched it with a baby sitter. Couldn’t sleep for 2 nights.

The Conjuring was damn creepy but I’m older now so they don’t follow me to bed like they did as a kid.

The Exocism of Emily Rose freaked me out though. I was at home by myself and the crucifux on the wall fell off and came apart AFTER watching that movie...I closed the door too hard but I’ll admit it freaked me out.

Conjuring was high quality.

Scariest movie for me was The Hills Have Eyes.

That trailer scene and the burning of the father made many get up and leave.

That reminded me...

Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty damn scary. “Don’t go to sleep” is a pretty effective theme if you want to scare the hell out of a kid.
