I watched the first 2 episodes, didn't watch the 3rd yet.
Objectively, it wasn't bad... it's a different take on the world than what PJ had.
I was surprised with what they did with Sauron, but I can see what they're doing.... it's kind of a Stephen King thing. The orcs, Adar included, don't know what he is. They thought they could kill him, they can't- you can't kill him. And to be fair, I could see Morgoth not educating the orcs about the true hierarchy. To them, Morgoth is the god, and Sauron is a sorcerer and immortal the way Elves are, doesn't get old but you could still kill in battle. Mistake.
As of 2 episodes, my take on the guy in Rhun is- he isn't another Istari, he's the Witch King. Having not seen the next episode yet, that could change.
When his soldier said they would slaughter the halflings, I did give a small cheer.

If you want I can find exact quotes from people who created the show but you’ll just deflect so what’s the point?

Or what JRR Tolkien had written for that matter.

It’s not a different take it’s a different universe and property all together. They’re just using Tolkien’s work to bring in viewers that wouldn’t watch without that name.

The Woke have been shitting on Lord of the Rings for well over a decade because it’s a bunch of white guys, not that many women (and the ones that are there are all white), and have said that the movie/book is bigoted against orcs.
I know this. People that had these radical opinions about Tolkien's story being racist were praising Rings of Power from moving away from the line of thinking that Orcs/darkness/bad = black people. They are if anything going out of their way to make Orcs not represent black people. So I don't see why I would just make a statement like it's a fact that these showrunners view orcs as black people

Again they made an entire film around this concept.
The same show runners? I honestly don't know. I never saw that movie and not saying that's not what it's about. but just because some movie made by completely different people made that doesn't tie it to Rings of Power.

The term is coding. It's used when you superimpose characteristics of a group of people onto a character to have them be a stand in for that group. As in the case of Bright (the movie referenced above) orcs were coded to be black people.
You often see it with aliens who have different skin tones.
Coding is one of those racist things people do when they want to pretend they aren't racist (on both sides of the aisle). There was flux outrage a few years ago about certain races being coded and it was the stupidest thing ever.

David Ayer made that Netflix movie. It’s just a low-IQ attempt to prove their boogeyman exists.

I have been looking for about 5 minutes now trying to find a quote where the showrunners are viewing Orcs as black people. I would honestly like to read that. Which yes, would be racist and make their story pretty stupid by trying to make Orcs relatable.
I am not a fan of this show, I'm not trying to defend it. I just find it hard to believe the show runners said the Orcs are black people when everything they've been getting praised for so far is doing just the opposite, by not having them viewed as black people.

some people are unable to understand this simple concept.

I’ll find something for you but ask yourself why else would they be trying to make a creature that was created specifically for war into family men other than to appease these lunatics who put forth that insane theory?

can you expound upon Madking's statement that they turned the Orcs into loving family men that didn't want to go to war?

If you’d actually watch any of these shows you’re constantly defending you’d see it’s in the fricking show.

The concept of redeemable Orcs and a fallen Elf father figure channels Tolkien's beliefs, creating a unique narrative in the show.
No he did not. There’s not one redeemable orc in the books. They’re all without exception evil. Yeah, it’s a tragedy what Morgoth did to them, but he long tortured and mutilated any good nature in them that they may have had.

These people are so dishonest, they’re getting that from Tolkien’s notes. It’s something he mulled over but decided against but since there are notes about it these hacks are saying Tolkien wanted this. It’s pure manipulation.

false premise. I never said there aren't dumbasses discussing it. I said because some dumbasses buy into it doesn't mean the show creators did.
there are people that believe the earth is flat also.
if you can think of something, there are people that believe it in this world.
there are 8 billion people on this planet and you act like 4 billion believe 1 way and 4 billion believe the other way and the people within those 2 groups agree with each other on everything.
you linking some random dipshit from John Hopkins talking about racism is irrelevant to the discussion of this show unless you can cite where the creator of Rings of Power discussed it.
