Thank you for proving my side of the argument.

Episode 4 has to be the worst, most cringe episode yet. But I cant stop watching because I need to see how bad it actually gets

I liked it for the most part. The whisper acting by Morfydd Clark and Ismael Cruz Córdova is spoiling their scenes. But, I'm enjoying everybody else.
That last line made me smile. After reading the books back in school, that's how all my nerd friends started greeting eachother.

According to data from Samba TV, 902,000 U.S. households tuned in for the premiere episode within four days of its debut, which is down quite significantly from the first season.
In fact, it’s half the audience that the first episode of Season 1 drew in less time. Samba says that, within three days of viewing, 1.8M U.S. households had watched the first episode.

Flip Khazad-Dum and Numenor and I’m with you.
The men storylines just aren’t grabbing me.
Enjoying this second season a lot more than the first so far.

This show sucks, I’m rooting for Elrond and Sauron at this point although I find both actors to be pretty bad at conveying what their characters are supposed to be. All the other characters are stupid and pointless.

You think the dwarves are the worst part of the show? That is wild. They are hands down the best part and really the only characters that closely resemble the characters Tolkien wrote. Both Durin's are probably the two best actors on the show as well.
I'm not sure if you count the Harfoots in your Stranger storyline but if you do, that is definitely the worst storyline. Nori and Fatty are just awful and now adding the Stoors and the guy with the worst wig of all time somehow makes them worse. Which I didn't think was possible.
I really hope they don't make them a regular part of the show.
Just an FYI for non book folks, Smeagol (gollum) was actually a Stoor.
Outside of S1, EP5 (where the Mithril/Simiril story started), this was the worst episode of the series so far. What I wanted to see more than anything this season was the Barrow-wights and they were a pretty big disappointment. And they just took Tom Bombadil quotes straight from Lord of the Rings. And to me, seemed to insinuate that Tom was actually Eru. Doubt they'll admit that but he pretty much told the stranger he was the oldest thing ever so that's what people are going to think. Just don't like him being in this story at all. The actor wasn't bad at all and seemed to pull of the essence of Tom in a way, but again it boils down to writing and just general storyline decision making.
Tom also seemed to confirm that the other bad guy is a Wizard and not a man/sorcerer/Witch King.
I'm trying to give them as much of a pass as I can as a die hard fan of Tolkien and the source/lore, but man they are making it hard. Even if I removed my personal feelings, I feel like I wouldn't view this as a good show.

Agreed. I just give no shits at all about Numenor. Elendil is given nothing. At least Isildur is better but he's in Middle earth. I think it's mostly because none of the characters in Numenor are interesting whatsoever. I'm sure they are in the book but I dont give two shits right now. Hell, I'd rather see the Harfoots and I can't believe I'm saying that
But I agree with you for the most part. I am enjoying this more than the first season but it's still not great. It's not bad. But they REALLY need to do a timeskip after this season past some of these storylines, maybe even recast some of the characters. Obviously keep the Durins, Elrond and Isildur, but other than that, I think you can get rid of a lot of these actors and kind of start over after a time skip

Agreed but Elrond's actor is growing on me. As well as Isildur. But that's really my biggest complaint so far. Most of the acting outside of Elrond and both Durins and Isildur is just...lifeless. Probably has more to do with the writing.
But the dwarves are WAY more interesting than anything not named Sauron and Celebrimbor

Yeah, this was a critique I had of season 1. That black elf that’s apart of the Isildur story line is playing his character like an emotionless Vulcan. I don’t know if it’s the actor’s choice or the direction he’s given but I can’t stand it.

On balance, I like the show despite its flaws.
I did not like Tom Bombadil in the books, but I actually did like him in the show. I think he was done right.
I don’t care about Numenor. At all.
I like the dwarfs, but I would like to see more going on there. The characters and actors are good. I want more. If they just had a dwarf show I would watch it.
I like the whole Sauron/Celebrimbor/Elrond thing. I like that Elrond has distrusted the rings from the start.
Galadriel is a big polarizer. I’m holding out hope that she will gain the wisdom and gravity she needs sooner rather than later.
I’m not a fan of the over the top elf combat scenes with Galadriel and Theo’s guardian. I mean, I get it. The elves are great fighters. But that’s all a bit much. One versus thirty? It’s really cringe, honestly.
The harfoots? Yeah… okay… Christ.
But still… not terrible. I don’t hate it. I will watch it.

So nobody is watching Prime this year.
Genius.

Another glowing review. Yeah, I'm not catching up.
quote:
Sauron, who canonically caused earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, who had Shelob as a "pet", who is known as the lord of werewolves, the 2nd in command to Morgoth, who 1v1 Huan of Valinor: In the show gets defeated by a small group of orcs and turns into floompy swamp sludge.
Galadriel, who canonically shielded Eorl the Young with a white mist, who used her power to utterly destroy the fortress of Dol Guldur, who was tutored by a literal demigod, who literally created her own girdle that kept evil from entering Lothlorien: In the show has issues fighting wights.
Isildur, who canonically was a mighty man of Numenor, who fiercely fought Sauron's guards to retrieve a fruit from Nimloth the Fair and succeeded, who fought bravely during the Dagorlad and cut the Ring from Sauron's hand: In the show is a little turd who gets roughed up by vagabonds.
Elendil the Tall, who canonically led the Faithful away from the sinking Numenor, who founded the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor, who along with Gil-galad fought Sauron and defeated him: In the show is literally useless. He does nothing of merit.
Gil-galad, who canonically fought in wars during the late 1st age, who fought in back to back wars against Sauron, who weilded Aeglos which put fear into the hearts of his enemies. "OF WHOM THE HARPERS SADLY SING": In the show is a useless manager who sits on his arse all the time when he isn't standing like a board pontificating at people.
Elrond, who canonically survived the latter part of the 1st age as a small boy, grew to be known as one of the wisest in Middle-earth, so much so that when Sauron was tempting the elves of Eregion he acknowledged it "....and wise in all lore is Master Elrond". Elrond, who founded Imladris as a shield against Sauron, who repeatedly fought against Sauron's armies during the War of the Elves and Sauron, who eventually fought in the Dagorlad and survived: In the show is decides to attempt suicide, and when that fails he goes to talk to Cirdan because he is old and wise and Elrond is young and dumb.
Ar-Pharazon the Golden, who canonically was a strong man in his prime years, who took the throne of Numenor by force and led an army so strong that the forces of Mordor fled: In the show is a bearded Jack Black lookin' blowhard who calms down a mock MAGA rally by having drinks served to people.
Can you imagine what a respectful adaptation of the Second Age would look like? Actually, forget that. I don't want any more adaptations. I'm sick of them. Just leave the property alone. No one in Hollyweird has the necessary skillset to pull it off, and they hate Tolkien anyway."

So you don't like the way he was portrayed in the books... which is how he's supposed to be portrayed since it's literally the source material... but you think they did him right in the show?
WTF
