The season as a whole was mostly entertaining but the finale was very meh.

The "cliffhanger" felt forced so that they could end the show with a bang.

Also, I was a bit confused with their whole plan to clear Terry. Were they trying to pin everything on Jack? What new evidence was used to clear Terry aside from Claude changing his testimony?

I’m seeing a theory that the Holly with Ralph was another Cuco the whole time. The Holly at the end credits was the real Holly.

A big give away was the Cuco Holly was listening to music at the end. Holly has stated she hates music and doesn’t listen to it.

And asking "Who's Terry" in the cave.

I completely missed Holly being scratched.

They put that reveal in the middle of the credits for some reason, so if you turned it off right after they cut to black you would have missed it

What leads you to believe she did? She never got close.

Edit - She stabbed him in the heart so she did get close. But if he moved it would have been noticed. If they make a new season with her getting scratched ill be upset.

Why didn't they just rig the cave with some explosives and bury el cuco, once they knew he was down there? Those caves are a death trap anyway. No thanks.

i mean, it's a safe assumption given the fact that the camera panned directly to her scratched arm at the very end of the episode.

Yeah, I don't think I buy this theory. I took the "Who's Terry?" line more of a way to show the difference in motivation between her and Ralph. Ralph just wants to exonerate Terry whereas Holly was just obsessed with the unexplainable/mystery of El Coco to the point that she forgot what the original investigation was about.

Besides, if it was El Coco, it still should know who Terry is.

I enjoyed it.

Was it the greatest show ever, no...but it was better than a lot of stuff ive watched.

I thought they did a good job putting off the supernatural for as long as they could, and rooting it fairly well in reality. Given the premise of the show, and now knowing all of the facts, I think this could’ve easily gotten silly pretty quickily, and instead I thought they were able to hold on to the creepy factor pretty well.

Ultimately I had fun watching it. It might’ve helped that I binged all episodes starting Friday and finishing Sunday. Having to watch it week to week probably would’ve changed my opinion.

Andy Greenwald of the Ringer said he spoke with someone in the shows production and asked for clarification on that and basically it was really poorly done, but that was suppose to be Holly's way of saying like "this conversation never happened... what conversation?". Doesn't make sense to me but idk.

Agreed.

It was bumpy from the start with that awkward shootout. Camera work was herky jerky. Characters were making really stupid decisions. Seale was shooting from his belly button. .

I hate to be mean but in my most honest opinion I thought this show wasn’t very good. The first two episodes were great and then it went downhill. The acting was average at best. Some of the camera work was shotty. They had a good storyline but the way it ended was terrible. The scene with the el cucco thing at the end was cringe worthy. I thought the El Cucco should have had more camera time. Too much screen time for the detectives. I would honestly love to get an opinion from someone who truly believes this is a top hbo show. I am currently also watching the leftovers and wow this show blows the outsider out of the water. It’s not even comparable. I also would like to say I thought this show had no substance. I honestly don’t even know what I mean by that. I just felt it lacked something. It left me bord at times and also I thought a lot of scenes were dragged out.

I still enjoyed it, it’s better than most stuff outside of premium networks. But seems like 50% of the plot happened in the first 2 episodes.
