WRONG, he definitely connected the dots
He didn’t put it together until looking at the drawings side by side in this last episode. He brought up the drawing to the GBI agent in the car and never mentioned anything about what the kid drew.

while she is annoyingly concerned about him, no. An affair like that would be terrible writing and pointless with what's going on.
She passed off her newborn and went running after him. She has been on his arse for a while. I don’t think they are having an affair, but it’s definitely a fair question to ask. Jack doesn’t seem like the type to get that close with friends, and we know his wife left him.

The other visitor who overheard the conversation is the one who explained it. The "child murderer" didn't explain what it was in detail.
The prisoner kind of hit the nail on the head, then the visitor got more specific.
quote:
If you are referring to the guy who went suicide by cop, then yes you should have known him from the beginning of the episode and then connected the dots as the episode went on.
Um, they didn’t get in to who the guy was and how he was connected until this last episode.

Holly explained why this site is important. Something about grief being its dessert and grave sites are filled with grief. The gravesite and the town where Terry's family lives is kind of irrelevant by my understanding. The locations are plot/setting points IMO. WHAT the location signifies is more important than WHERE it is.
I get why the barn is important and all the grief stuff. I was purely speaking on location and distance from where everyone else lives.

Watch with subtitles if you aren't already. Reading everything that is said without missing even the tiniest detail helps me follow everything that is happening and enjoy it. Hell, I even have to rewind from time to time even though I didn't miss anything.
Yeah, I do all of this. I was just asking questions. I wasn’t necessarily confused. The only thing I legitimately didn’t get was the guy connected to Heath. And now I get it.

Bump for tonight’s episode. Really looking forward to this one.

The last episode was really good. They hit on two points that seemed pretty obvious...that being the connection between the two drawings (finally made) and el cuco going after Holly, who is clearly one of the biggest threats to him (he did).

Just finished episode two and wow, its my favorite HBO show in a long while.
I havent read through the thread but one thing just bugged the shite out of me. In episode one, the cops were talking and one of them was mentioning the Georgia State Police and called them "Staties." I lived in Georgia the first 20 years of my life, go back there regularly, and have a nephew that is a state police. That term has never been used before in the south. Its a northern term. Its GSP or State Police in Georgia.

Got to be honest, that episode sucked. Felt like a filler.

I agree, it was kind of a let down episode- especially after last week.

Great show, bad episode.
I was surprised a few weeks back when I saw it was 10 episodes. This really felt like they could have done an action packed 6 or 8 episodes.
I hope it doesn’t fade out like “The Night Of”
I’ll give last night a pass

I feel the same way.
What did we learn last night that we didn't know from the prior episode... Pretty much nothing.

all I can think last night's episode was used to establish was that Jack will eventually turn against El Cuco and do something heroic.
I don't think they needed a whole episode to establish that, but alas.

:KIGE: Man, this is slow moving. Could’ve wrapped up the car/gas station scene last week. The overall story and production keeps me coming back (excellent score/sound design like Chernobyl), but the pace is a slog.

That was just a massively unnecessary cliff hanger

Agree. Last night was almost all filler, especially the part about Terry's wife going back to work. IDGAF about that.
The car ride was very anticlimactic, too. I guess I expected something else.

anybody else find it weird how they just all of a sudden jumped from searching for Holley to sitting in the house with her and everyone around?
they spent the entire episode on this quest to save her, and then just not show them actually finding her (I assume she just drove back)
weird episode

I really liked this episode too. I loved the tension building in the car between Jack and Holly. Also, people are trying to get Ralph on board and he's just not there yet. I thought it was really good.

Agreed. Hoping they can keep these next 3 eps as entertaining as the first few.

I'm also really enjoying it
watching ben mendehlson in this role makes me think he could be a great anthony bourdain if they ever did a movie about him.
