Yeah good call. As an aside, I cannot stand that actress playing Terry's wife. She is heinous.

Just found this show last night and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen something blend crime and horror together so beautifully... which actually makes it kind of terrifying
I remember a quote (paraphrasing) from Alfred Hitchcock where he said something to the effect of, the key to horror is not going too far with it because then the audience laughs it off/disengages because it’s so out there... you have to find that exact point of realism and horror to where it at least feels real
And that’s exactly what this show does

This show does what all the great horror movies/shows do: the music doesn't always go with a jump scare. Matter of fact there aren't many jump scares in this show. Except for the barn scene where I almost shat. It is just the feeling of dread or something is about to pop out but never does that gets me.
The off angle camera shots are what drive me up the wall but in a good way. I am constantly looking in the open space of the shot to see if a glimpse of the hooded guy is back there.

so do we all agree that the strip club owner is the next real victim? We assume el cuco did the wrist move on him and is shedding to him as his new form.
The bubble neck stuff is a way for him to manipulate while he is vulnerable so it has to be the strip club guy.

He worked that guy over good. Impressive hands

Yes. Absolutely.
And I assume the "he" is going to commit the next crime, but the state cop will be watching him while the crime is being committed, which will finally convince everyone.

Yeah that cop is religious and he believes her. Hell he did the sign of the cross when she tied it all together.

I like his character.

Seemed like Holly’s presentation would have been better received if she would have not tried to identify the entity, just strongly suggested that paranormal activity could be involved and see how that percolated.

I'm watching it again and why did his wife insist that everyone with any involvment be present for Holly's findings?
I think it's a combo of wanting the wife to see that they are actually working very hard to figure out what really happened and also because of the paranormal aspects to it she realizes that not everyone "gets it".
It's been 100% clear that Ralph has refused to even believe at all in the paranormal possibilities but she's starting to see it and the GBI cop also believes it's possible so having more people there for the presentation gives it a better chance of being accepted.

The scene with Ralph and Terry’s wife where she considers if Terry actually killed the boy is probably the best acting I’ve seen in years.
Seriously?
I like the show, you can read the thread and see that so i'm not hating on it. But none of the acting has been THAT impressive. I thought Bateman was probably the best actor they had.
I like Ralph, but he's not that great of a cop

It makes no difference. Ralph is a terrible cop and didn’t even put together the drawing his wife made with the one the car thief drew. How is that possible? It didn’t even cross his mind how two people who don’t know each other drew the exact same thing. Is the Asian cop having an affair with the drunk a-hole cop? Is the baby his? Something weird going on there. The child murderer woman just knew that it was a dna snatching shapeshifter demon that framed her? That’s a crazy coincidence. Was I supposed to know who the black guy was that played a large role in this last episode? Terry’s grave was near the barn. Weren’t we told that that barn was like a two hour drive from their town? Yet this is somehow the center of everything that’s happening in their lives? Not enjoying the show that much, but I said I would stick it out til the end.
Ralph is a terrible cop and didn’t even put together the drawing his wife made with the one the car thief drew - WRONG, he definitely connected the dots. Just didn't want to acknowledge it. Same way he was forcing himself at the end to believe his "dream" was not El Cuco.
Is the Asian cop having an affair - while she is annoyingly concerned about him, no. An affair like that would be terrible writing and pointless with what's going on.
The child murderer woman just knew that it was a dna snatching shapeshifter demon that framed her? - The other visitor who overheard the conversation is the one who explained it. The "child murderer" didn't explain what it was in detail.
Was I supposed to know who the black guy was that played a large role in this last episode? - If you are referring to the guy who went suicide by cop, then yes you should have known him from the beginning of the episode and then connected the dots as the episode went on.
Terry’s grave was near the barn. Weren’t we told that that barn was like a two hour drive from their town? Yet this is somehow the center of everything that’s happening in their lives? - Holly explained why this site is important. Something about grief being its dessert and grave sites are filled with grief. The gravesite and the town where Terry's family lives is kind of irrelevant by my understanding. The locations are plot/setting points IMO. WHAT the location signifies is more important than WHERE it is.

Not enjoying the show that much
Watch with subtitles if you aren't already. Reading everything that is said without missing even the tiniest detail helps me follow everything that is happening and enjoy it. Hell, I even have to rewind from time to time even though I didn't miss anything. Sometimes I just end up thinking about the scene before and completely tune out what the current scene is presenting.
This last episode had me the most excited for the next one. I think the pace of everything is going to pick up as Ralph and the gang are honing in on the truth.

Maybe not that impressive to you. It was to me.

Yep, Ralph is on board now. I think shits going down next episode. Bc not only is Ralph on board but so is the religious cop. I cannot wait to see what happens with Holly. I just want to see the Cuco’s face at this point.

Dont know about the rest of he said but he kind of is.
Front the get go. Nobody, and I mean nobody, would go and arrest a guy while he's coaching a softball game WITHOUT EVEN QUESTIONING HIM first. That was incredibly dumb, about as bad as it gets. If he would have called him in for an interview he would have seen that Terry had an alibi and probably would have had to let him walk and do more investigating before he could arrest him.

Since when is that good police work? A cop has to consider every avenue seriously, not try and talk himself out of something. I mean part of it was coming from his own wife for gods sake.

%100. I couldnt watch the show if it didnt have subtitles.

This is a horrible take. Her husband was just falsely accused of killing a child and then murdered.
Posted on 2/11/20 at 7:30 am to Bronson2017
I’m starting to suspect the GBI agent has a nefarious role. When he was watching the strip club owner drive off he whispered something inaudible to what appeared to be no one.

oh shite that ending...
