It's trending to have a strong opening so most people don't care
It was always going to have a strong opening with Nolan's cache and the hype. The second weekend and on will tell the story. I think the historical aspect, visuals, and Nolan will carry it to a strong performance no matter what.

This cast was announced early 2025. No one was complaining until recently when Elon and other of the big accounts on X started tweeting about it. I feel like it became all about engagement once that happened.

I hate how society has gotten and everything is political.
I think most people would prefer not to see politics in their non-political entertainment. Who do you think introduced this angle?

Sure, most of us felt that way but there's tons of big accounts that were predicting a flop. Now, they have to move the goalposts and its the 2nd weekend that matters lol. It's going to perform well, you know that. It's not going to have bad legs.

No, it's been co-opted by the permanently-aggrieved rightwing crybabies.

And now it's political-political...and who made it that way?

The 70mm theater in Dallas is sold out until mid August

I see that you have a fool-proof plan to get political discussion out of entertainment discussion.

There are always people who get predictions wrong. People thought Supergirl would do well, people thought Snow White would do well.
I personally don't get all the box office arguments because entertainment is so subjective. Everybody here probably has a movie they didn't like or thought was mediocre and their opinions aren't in line with the bell curve. If I walk out of a movie it doesn't matter to me if it lost money or made $500 million, I didn't care for it.

And whose fault is it that the movie is making political statements? Hmm?

What statements is it making? Just curious since I haven’t seen it yet.

And yet you felt the need to share this:

If they "reimagined" Roots with Robert Pattinson as a lead character, you'd shite a brick.
Except that's not the same. Helen of Troy is in no way a lead character in this movie (or the book). She's in the movie for a few minutes. The casting was retarded, everyone agrees, but again, she's a minor character.
If she was cast in The Iliad or Helen of Troy by Margaret George, that would be an issue and more in line with your comparison.

How dare you bring facts and logic to such a discussion.
