Honestly quit watching it many seasons ago because her manager wouldn't stop saying "frick" etc a billion times.

Finished watching the first 3 episodes. Are we allowed to talk about it in this thread?

frick is wrong with saying frick every few fricking seconds? I guess Deadwood is a no-go for you, then.

You’re getting grief and downvotes but I don’t like profanity for profanity’s sake.

My teenage son has a list of movies he wants to watch and I’ve put kabash on a few because I find using the Fword just for empty dialogue’s sake to be vile (Departed, Superbad, etc.)

Thank God they toned down the nudity.

My dumb theory:

Did I miss the announcement that Milo Ventimiglia was going to be in this season also? Is this the series that Team Jess gets their win and Palladino gets her Jess and main female character happy ending or was that scene in episode two a one off just like last season?

First three episodes of season five are already better than season four in my opinion. Enjoyed the first three episodes.

Well, Midge was bad last season. The other characters, especially Suzie, were hilarious. Alex carried the show last year

It’s been good so far. The snapshots of them in the 80s has been interesting, seeing the kids and how things have turned out piece by piece.

The mobsters taking out the matchmakers was hilarious.

Susie actually used the word "invest" as in she was going to invest in the tea room. Susie actually has money to invest. Nice change .

Just finished the first 3. I have an interesting theory on the flash forwards and how it could play a part in the storyline of current events. I wonder if all of this is going to lead to a choice for Midge.

The first 3 episodes we get a flash forward to her as a successful comic but little to do with her children, a loveless love life with no Joel or her parents or Susie in sight. This is the future we see where she chooses her career over everything else.

I wonder if the next 3 episodes are going to show a different future as the flash forwards, one where she gives up comedy, is still miserable in a way, but stays close with her family, kids, Susie and even gets back together with Joel. A different future where she chose her family over career. So that way we’re still not sure which future she picks by season’s end. Or if she tries to do both and neither future is her actual future. Idk. Just a random thought as to the point of the flash forwards

Also the bit with her kids, dragging the poor boy all over the floor is played for laughs but it’s kind of fricked up. Midge has been self centered, self destructive, fickle, unkind, self important, egotistical, and neglectful to her kids for 4 seasons now. So it’s not surprising but it’s kind of shocking that they chose this season to show any kind of consequences to that.
