Is there a suggested episode watch for Rebels? I know with Clone Wars there were filler episodes that could be skipped

I’m not aware of one but there are a number of one off episodes that could be skipped without sacrificing an understanding of the larger arc or the show. Particularly in the first two seasons.

Wife: "I am not letting you stick it in there."

Husband: "But this is the way."

Wife: "Don't give me that nonsense. Your friends are all trying this on us. The other wives warned me."

Im like 75% sure they are setting this up for Pedro Pascal to leave the show, Din Djarin becomes a side character, and then it continues as “The Mandalorian” but Bo Katan is the main character

The Mandalorian is Grogu.

Nah. It's a pretty well known "secret" that he's very rarely on set and is doing the voice most of the time in a studio. It's the easiest pay check ever for him

I agree with this. The signs are all there.

- rescued by a member of the Creed
- chose the Beskar Chainmail armor when presented with Luke’s offer
- several instances of Grogu taming wild beasts with the force. His special power seems to be how he can connect with animals and bend them to his will
- the clan being tormented by large beasts
- the Mythosaur foreshadowing
- taking the chest plate from the armorer

He's going to look bad arse using the force to jump around while his ears stick out the sides of a tiny Mandalorian helmet

i though because of the hate he got for this in season 1, for S2 and 3 he has done more of the actual acting now.

The animation is still clunky AF when he jumps. It's like they're jerking a Muppet on a string around the set.

I want you to try to imagine this if it were all CGI.

Spoiler alert: it would fukking suck.

Anyone else crack up at how quickly their fuel ran out chasing that beast?

their jet packs aren't that big. they use them for tactical use in fighting more than anything not any long term flying i wasn't surprised
That, and, you know, there's the concept of time passage offscreen. No real telling how long or far they flew; just that the big raptor went further.

Upon further consideration, the bigger issue is- how come nobody ever bothered to fly a larger craft to track the critter? I doubt they all took an Uber to that planet, therefore they have to have a couple craft. Mando has his, you know there are more. And as stated, this has happened before, and they always ran out of fuel before finding the nest. You'd think the more experienced/thoughtful would say "wait, let's get in my transport this time, instead of blindly rocket-packing after it".
Sure, a couple can do that, just to maintain contact until the ship catches up.

Also- and we commented on this at the time; if the critter is spitting the boy out, birds usually chew the food out for their young before doing that. How did he survive that?

His armor protected him. Remember seeing the helmet in the nest. They can’t eat the armor

no... Bo Katan led a group of Mandalorians, including the expected resistance to her (Visla). She earned their respect, and his gratitude and loyalty. That's going to be important.

Exactly. And Mando being the one to save his son was pretty big too to clear up any bad blood between them…or make us think they did.

The only issue I had with the episode is that it was too short…but then again maybe better to leave you wanting more than to drag on.

Guess I have a couple stupid questions

How do the jetpacks not burn them?

They can change the optics in their helmets kinda like the predator does. Why do they have a little head lamp/flashlight on the helmet?

It doesn't take me out of the show I just think about it while I watch.

Isn’t that what it is? Pedro said a couple weeks ago on Hot Ones the muppet made him emotional.

The armor isn't a seamless exoskeleton. It's not going to protect him from stomach acid, nor will it keep him from being crushed. Critter looked like it regurgitated him, instead of holding him in it's mouth.

The helmet in the nest is from a dead Mandalorian. Didn't save that one. It's basically like a piece of crawfish shell.

There was an article that came up in my news feed that said this runtime was in keeping with the average Mando episode of 35-ish minutes. Apparently that's something someone tracks.

The cutscene to Coruscant; it doesn't seem to fit in Mando's current story, but I do see it as a way to reintroduce Bill Burr's character. Those are the true believers he wants to kill.
