How was Elle portrayed in the game if that is not a spoiler? Is all of the lesbian stuff just for TV?

No shes a lesbian in the game. The episode with her first girlfriend from season 1 was the DLC for the first game but she had talked about her in the game before the dlc came out. Dina is in the 2nd game and they kiss at the dance and the dude calls her a dyke just like the show

I actually fell asleep during the episode Sunday night, asked my wife if I missed anything, and she just said "not really"
So I rewatched last night and she was right. That was a pretty poor episode.
The scene with the "smart" clicker was good, but other than that, it was way too much stuff with Ellie. And I get that they want to build characters, but her character is just so unlikeable.
Maybe this is all a set up for some redemption later, but I hope that comes soon. I want to like this show.

Stuff should start picking up soon, I don't want to say anything more but yes episode one was essentially getting the audience established with how Jackson has changed as well as Ellie's relationship with Joel and some of the new characters. The adaption will span over two seasons but honestly it's needed otherwise shite would feel super rushed which is also a problem

Joel never went to therapy and Kathleen was never in the game. It's not surp4rising that fans are not fans of this show. The writers don't give a crap about the source material.

Dude the writer is the same guy that wrote the game. Druckman and Mazin (along with Troy Baker, voice of Joel in games) do a podcast after each episode and explain why they made the changes they made.

Almost every real life lesbian couple is an attractive woman with an ogre that looks like her snatch would melt your face like the Ark of the Covenant the moment you laid eyes on it.
