Yeah it honestly could have been. I’m hoping 9 episodes is enough to cover game one and they don’t need to speed things up in some episodes.

Anyway got to rewatch the episode this morning and I’ll say this the best episode of a show I’ve seen since classic GoT. The episode was pretty much perfect, can’t think of anything negative to say or any change I didn’t like. The cold open was perfect for setting up what was about to happen and explaining to newbies of what exactly what the infection was. Despite knowing what was going to happen the tension was still very much there especially in scenes that did not exist in the game like Sarah’s venture into the neighbors’ house. The shot for shot remakes of the game like the truck ride into the city as perfect and what a nice fake out with the truck. Truly felt like all hell was breaking lose, and of course Sarah’s death hit just as damn hard as it did in the game. And now that they kind of rushed through Robert’s crew we finally get to go out of the city and into the outside. So much coming soon that I can’t wait to see

Anyone else having issues with HBO Max right now? I keep getting a "Something Went Wrong" error message every time I try to stream the show.

Agreed. I’ll rewatch with my teenager today and am looking forward to it. He was pissed I didn’t let him watch with friends last night I’m just still a bit protective.
I’m glad they didn’t have to feel the need to have a hook and cram too much 20 years later.

is having the Fireflies kill Robert instead of Tess and Joel. That's it, the rest was perfection.

I remember my first "best movies - Microsoft paint version" (where we all just drew movie scenes in Microsoft paint) stayed on the first page of google for a long time if you searched "best movies." Which is pretty impressive

She actually annoyed me a good bit. It felt like they tried to give her as many curse words in her dialogue as they could to make her “edgy.” I don’t know why it just didn’t feel natural for some reason….came off completely fake to me.
But I’m interested to see what her deal is with being immune to bites and whatnot.

I mean in the game every sentence of Ellie's dialogue basically consisted of a noun, a verb, and the word "motherfricker"
...her character never shied away from curse words
