Complete noob here, and that was such an awesome pilot. Damn, so well done, reminded me of early Walking Dead episodes before it went off the rails. Really hoping HBO nails this one, and they’re off to a great start with that first episode.
I also don’t love the talk about the young girl, does feel a little creepy, but I also can admit she’s weird af looking lol.

I’m not even saying it isn’t accurate. Just saying it felt sort of weird and forced. Maybe it’s the actress, who knows.
Also, I didn’t read the first 3 or so pages of the thread but I see from all the vomit bullshite posted in the last few that there were issues with the way she looks. I agree she looks kinda weird, but don’t get why that’s a problem either way or why this thread devolved into political stupidity. Can all sides of that argument agree to just shut the frick up and focus on episode discussion? Seems like that should be fairly easy to do, yet here we are. I’d love to be able to participate in episode discussion threads without having to sift through asinine shite.
Also, I hope the show comes into its own and doesn’t fall completely in line with the game(s). Otherwise there will be spoiler assholes in this thread, as usual.

I knew nothing of this show except it seemed like a decent cast and got a lot of hype. It looks good so far. I was pretty shocked when his daughter bought it so quickly. I wouldn’t have minded a little transition to Boston and some sort of background on FEDRA.

I’m sure the major pieces will still be the same as well as the endgame but there are certainly some differences most of which have been expansion on the stories we already knew and of course the cold open

Well judging by reviews I have seen it seems like its going to follow very closely to the game, at least through the first season. So be wary of the assholes, but i havent seen much spoilery shite in this thread yet, just the usual political bullshite.

Not complaining about the casting, but to this point the Ellie in the game was a little more charming, for lack of a better word, about it than Bella Ramsey is. I will agree with you that it did stick out for me, much moreso here than it did in the game.

i'm mainly lookin forward to episode 3 because whether you played the game or not we know very little about the character Bill and we get his entire back story portrayed by the awesome Nick Offerman.

is having the Fireflies kill Robert instead of Tess and Joel. That's it, the rest was perfection
I think we're just trying to avoid giving away events that happen in the game that will likely happen in the show.
I'm not really upset about Robert getting killed by the Fireflies, as he's really a small fraction of the game's opening. I assume there's a reason why this was changed.

HBO has a companion podcast. They have the show runners on there and they explained some of choices. Pretty interesting.

Honestly the whole mission was more just there to get gamers familiar with the gameplay. Robert is honestly the most forgettable part of the game.

I also agree with that too. And also agree that we will have “game player spoiler” battles in here just like we used to with GoT. It will be massively annoying I suspect.
I mean shite, there already has been game shite posted in here multiple times. In the “no spoilers” thread.
