The only thing I can figure is that he was some crazy, lonely, fat cat hoarder before all of this and once he found some he couldn't help himself.

But we do know that most animals are dead, right? So it would be super weird to have cats alive.

I don't know.

I didn't mean for my cat lady comment to be taken serious, but I guess it could be a possibility

I just don't think that's sinister enough. Granted they could be trying to throw us, but the episode (and preview) made it seem like it was definitely something bad.

good question, I guess it didn't even click for me while watching that he had electricity.

Also how long has it been since the beginning, like 2 years? They were talking about their canned food spoiling, but can't a lot of canned food stay good for a shite ton longer than that? Seems like worst case they could live on ramen or something. Also on that note, when having the conversation about only a little bit of canned goods left then having to eat the cow, nobody really seemed all that concerned. Like, if your food supply is only enough to last another 2 weeks then you have to kill and process a cow by yourself, seems like people should be a little on edge or at least trying to develop a plan. They were just like "oh yeah cool, pass the cheese and wine".

Not to nitpick a show like this, but shouldn't the clapping as well as carol talking right next to him have made the bark collar to off if his voice made it go off?

I thougth about that but I don't know enough about how those things work. Since it didnt' go off when he whispered or with the clapping, I just assumed that it measures how strong or intense (can't think of a better word) the voice is.

The thing that is starting to bother me is the fact that Carol only has a connection with Melissa at this point. The Australian chick hates her because of Black Phil. The other woman seems to just be in a mood and isn't hanging out with anyone. Black Phil wants Carol, but she doesn't want him. Frickin Todd is having his own problems.

So, she wants to stay, but it is almost like she is choosing Melissa over Phil. It could just be that it is hard to wrap your mind around thinking everyone in the world is dead, then you meet a bunch of people, then you would have a tough time willingly leaving all of them.

The expiration dates don't even mean much, other than a CYA for food producers. I'm thinking they could eat the canned food for 5-10 years without too much issue before being forced into eating the vegetation.

A funny note, about 2 years ago my then-girlfriend came to visit me in Baton Rouge. I was grilling on the patio and she comes out and asked if I wanted some chips. For the life of me, I couldn't remember ever buying potato chips. Since she was already eating them I just decided not to say anything, and just ate some myself. Sure enough, expired in 2009. Tasted fine, no food poisoning.

I hated last night's episode. He saved their house and they are still being assholes to him? So is every episode going to consist of the group being dicks and Tandy trying to make it up to them?

My theory about Todd: he's hoarding food of some sort.

I caught up on the thread, and agree with most here.

frick this group of assholes, and Phil and Carol should peace the frick out and tell them all to go frick themselves.

Carol isn't so socially inept that she can't see that everyone hates Phil to the point of them actually going overboard with punishments. And the main reason for that is that motherfricker Black Phil...frick him and I hope he dies soon, and in some awful, horrible way.

The voice collar thing, Phil said he attaches to where it is touching the voice box, so I assume vibration of that is what sets it off, as opposed to just other noises (like clapping or Carol's voice).

Props to Phil for saving the day, but he should basically want to murder them all and he'd damn near be justified.

Although, as always, I do love friggin Todd, and hope that he and Melissa still stick around, mainly so Phil can have something to bitch about (and try to impress).

And I get that Phil is doing all of this for Carol, but for frick's sake, when is it too much?

Also, this made me laugh:

Sure, but it's because Carol did just kill her man in the previous episode. So she's not only in a bit or mourning, but also should be a little off-put with Carol.

I was wondering a couple of episodes ago if they were all gonna be on the beach and Jason Sudekis's probe would land on them, killing all of the group sans Phil/Carol.

As for the new Todd thing, who knows what it could be. I think the food thing could be a little too obvious, so I hope it gets really weird. And I also thought it was strange that he had electricity. And on that same token, I think it's really weird that these people leave candles and fire pits going all night long. I mean, it's not like there's a rason to want to make supplies last as long as possible or anything..

I really, really, really hope next week starts Tandy styling on their asses. Looks like he'll get some dirt on Todd. Hopefully the others as well in following episodes.

Yeah, that's a good point. I guess I shouldn't have said "for some reason".

Anyway, whatever it is, it has to be something that Phil can hold over him. I could see it being food because of the whole expired food conversation they had last episode. It would be pretty great if it is something really despicable because plenty of people were on here last season saying there had to be something more toe Phil than just being a fat, teddy bear.

Could the Todd secret have something to do with the cow?? Seems like he mentioned that he was in charge of taking care of the cow and said to ensure that it kept providing them with milk that it had to stay happy or something like that and then kind of got a weird look on his face.

I'm thinking it has something to do with keeping the cow in a really nice pad that he's keeping secret from everyone else and making ice cream or some other treat he's keeping for himself.

It'd be pretty crazy if the show took a Walking Dead type turn to crazy only can happen in a post apocalyptic world type thing. For instance, if you see a woman walking down the street with a kitana with 2 dudes with their jaws ripped off and their arms ripped off, you'd think that was the craziest thing you ever saw. In a zombie world, you think, well if it keeps away walkers, then, yeah, that makes sense. I doubt they take a truly out of nowhere turn, but I would welcome it.

Forgot to mention how much I laughed at Phil's whole "do the crime, do the time" schtick. That shite was hilarious.

I think the name of the next episode gives it away.

Does anybody thinks it's possible that the rest of the group is scared of Phil after he tried to kill Tandy? So they are concerned that Tandy will push him over the edge and are just following along?

Regardless, I have a feeling Todd will come around, and next week will be a catalyst for that.
