Temple of Doom is underrated as a standalone work. It doesn't get nearly as Indiana Jones-y with the history/christian relics aspect but it really does flow quite well in a way the others don't always.

I agree. It has a different tone that Raiders and The Last Crusade. It’s intentionally more campy and trying to feel more like an old pulp action film.

Which it achieves.

JP2:LW gets too much hate. It's not near as good as the first one obviously, and there is some stupid in it. But it is still pretty damn good. But the simple fact that it ranks dead last is laughably stupid.

I ignored the list after seeing that. The Lost World is a solid movie

I think Spielberg having his girlfriend having as much, if not more, screen time than Indy, plus being extremely annoying, is why it's not higher and a lot of people's scorecard. If he would have toned her down, movie might have been better received.

32. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

Saw problems this early.

I'm not saying Ready Player One is some great cinema, but it is EASILY better than Crystal Skull.

Not to mention the list is kind of confusing.

At first, as I went down, I figured that blockbusters were going to take a backseat to more emotional pieces, and that would have made some sense...

Then I see Jaws ahead of Schindler's List and I honestly don't know what they wanted.

It shows how good he is that some of his worst are enjoyed by many.

Very, very wise to include the "during the previews" part because otherwise... oof.

Wasn't aware the 2021 version of West Side Story was that acclaimed.

First time I ever hear of someone saying Schindler's List put them in a romantic mood.

I'm not wasting my time redoing that whole awful list, but The Terminal and War of the Worlds are way underrated.

I'd love to know what possible reason they have for putting Saving Private Ryan at 21. Has to be some anti-war, anti-masculinity nonsense.

He is incredibly overrated. He cannot help himself with the same tropes in almost every movie. The backlighting, the kids and their wonder, the score, the syrup. It's mostly awful.
