I love Lion King but The Incredibles made it to the semi's so I don't think this is a valid tournament.

it's Hamlet.

Beauty and the beast has the better soundtrack. Got robbed.

Toy story should have won the whole thing

Lion King is such a bland shitty movie. That's milenials in a nutshell. Bland, shitty, and unappreciative of anything

I mean, not a single Anime feature made the round of 32.

What more do you need to know?

Bunch of uncultured swine up in here.

It's a shame that Spirited Away was nuked, Bakshi never made the board, and Bluth was rebuffed.

But c'mon

Heck, Team 4 Star didn't get one movie into the bracket. I would have voted for "Christmas Tree of Might" and/or "Broly" all the way to the top.

That movie was mainly arse with the exception of when Broly raged. Also helped they had Pantera in the background.

It’s as simple as they hadn’t seen Spirited Away. You could put that against any movie some of the mouth breathers here have even seen, and it will lose. There’s no way the posters who voted for The Brave Little Toaster have seen Spirited Away.

And iwy, Jesus Christ, it’s nothing personal against you. You set up the tournament (did it well) and laid out the rules, and people just violated them. There’s no way a room temperature IQ moron like imjustafatkid had seen (or even heard of) all 64 of those movies.

It was just inevitable that The Lion King was going to win anyway. We all knew it. I mean it’s a great movie, but it’s not the greatest animated film ever made. The Lion King is cool, and that’s only real reason why it won.

At beginning didn't a lot of posters say The Lion King is going to win this pretty easily?

So the tournament was mostly chalk except for Web and Fox and the Hound making it as far as they did.

As a millennial, I have to disagree with that 1st part.

The Lion King can funny, very tragic (has arguably the saddest part in any animated movie ever), great side characters, and a really good villain. It's got a lot going for it. I wouldnt have been upset if BB won, it's a great movie, but I definitely wouldnt say TLK is bland.

Have you seen Grave of the Fireflies? That’s the saddest animated film, unless I’m ignorant of another one out there.

The first thought that comes to mind with the Lion King is epic. It’s definitely not bland, but people mistake it’s epicness for its quality.

I remember when Beauty and the Beast came out and it was universally lauded as the greatest Disney animated film of all-time.

Then Aladdin came out and it was universally lauded as the greatest Disney animated film of all-time.

Then the Lion King came out and everyone said, no movie will ever top Lion King...it's the greatest animated movie of all-time.

Then Toy Story came out...

M/TV Board got it right.

Would have been a better battle between Toy Story and Lion King, as they are the 2 greatest

Beauty and the Beast was the first animated film nominated for Best Picture. And who the hell has said Aladdin is the greatest animated film of all time? 8 year old boys? You’d be hard pressed to find a critic that thinks Aladdin is superior to Beauty and the Beast.

I guess some have said The Lion King was the greatest of all time (simply due to the box office) and certainly Toy Story, but I don’t think that is something we throw out all that lightly anymore.
