I thought that they'd at least have Mackie bulk up a bit. He looks tiny.
Did he take the serum in Falcon and Winter Soldier? If not, I still dont see how he can be Cap with nothing super about him.... And i dont like how he can go all this super flying being a regular man..... then the super sonic shot... his body would crumble.

I don't see how they make that work honestly. How many times would OG Cap have died if he was just a regular dude with a shield? The character doesn't work without super strength.

His suit needs to be his super strength/power.

The one thing i don't get is him throwing the shield around. I think it's forgotten that Steve Rogers was able to throw it around with precision b/c of the super serum. WIthout that, it's just a dude throwing a frisbee without much control. I think it would look stupid for Sam to throw the sheild and it bounce off 2 different things and come right back to him. it's not a magnet or a boomerang, it's physics, and Steve Rogers knew how to make that work.

They covered that (to an extent) in Falcon & Winter Soldier where they had him working on trying to make it ricochet.

I thought the only person that threw it in that trailer was Isaiah Bradley, who had the serum.

Trailer also tried to make him look like a bad guy, but there's no way they're really going to go that route.

ETA: Would make the most sense though. Only a villain would have powers like his and stand by and watch while the world almost got destroyed multiple times.

Hell yeah. Captain America is canonically an LSU fan now and from Nola.

And I'm in the minority here but I prefer him not having the serum. Batman is a normal guy in a rubber suit who battles universal threats and no one blinks because Batarang and shark repellent. Sam can't hold a helicopter down like Steve could, but if the helicopter takes off he can chase it down and ground it another way.

So yeah I'm rooting for the guy who was in the Air Force, helped veterans after his service, and was hand picked by Steve Rodgers to hold the shield.

Which fight did you expect him to drive to and arrive before it was finished?

0:57 - Woodbury Research Facility in Woodbury, GA. TWD fans should recognize that location.

We'll see. I have no faith in Disney, atm

But if it reviews well with my friends and family, I may go see it.

critics rated TLJ 97% (still at 91%) and first half of Acolyte 95% (granted it has since fallen to 81%)

I don't believe any professional critics anymore, including the Youtube neckbeard mafia

That would certainly be quite the twist if they had the balls to do it

It limits his capabilities, and the types of enemies he can fight, just like it does gritty batman in the DC movies.

But with good writing, it can work.

Now if they show him fist-fighting the Red Hulk and not becoming a dead puddle of jelly, I will cease all MCU viewing. RH at this point is a pure murder machine

Oh I agree with you on that for sure. I feel like early MCU did a good job keeping the threat proportional to the hero, although that started to fall into the trope of the villain just being an evil version of the hero with same powers.

If they give this a grounded feel similar to Winter Soldier, I think it can be great.

Great, So he's going to wear a suit for his powers (at least Iron man made his own). I pray this is not how it goes.
