Very solid first episode. Had no idea Lindelof was behind this so not surprising it was so well done. Not a superhero guy but this will be appointment viewing on Sundays going forward.
Agreed. I think the last superhero movie or show I have seen was The Dark Knight Rises and have had zero interest in seeing any of the marvel stuff.
That was an excellent first episode and I'll continue watching.

You guys got some wishful thinking going on. Been trying to confirm Gunn's lack of involvement, but everything I'm reading has Gunn involved throughout the project, and also that the agency that trapped Peacemaker in season 2 of that series will be involved.
Everything also seems to indicate they tapped Lindeloff because of his work on the Watchmen TV series, which I'm hoping isn't a sign. Honestly wishing I hadn't read that.

The part that's odd now is Guy Gardner existing in this world.
I can always accept more Nathan Fillion.

His Guy Gardner is perfect. Going to be interesting to see how that character fits into this show without making it too silly.

I found it really odd and a little jarring that JS would just walk the older lady to her truck and have casual sex with her. There is no way that straight laced character would do that. Talk me out of it, I'm easily swayed if you disagree.
All superheroes have a weakness. Perhaps white pussy is his kryptonite.

Just watched it. It was a solid first episode. The interrogation scene was really great. I hope we get a little more personality from Stewart moving forward. He was pretty boring, IMO.

You ask 90% of the posters about Obama on here and they couldn't hide their disdain.

On some boards they are rather obvious. I mean, just look at el gaucho.

I believe she was of the Indian persuasion...... but I like the cut of your jib.

This should be the movie/tv boards tagline now. I'm going to hate on it and tell the people that have watched it all about the show and it's messaging before I even watch it. Pretty much what this board is now.
Go back and re-read what I wrote, slowly if you have to, then come back and explain to me how my post was hating on the show.

John Stewart is typically portrayed as fairly stoic. His decision to have sex with a woman he just met in a bar is pretty out of character for a typical portrayal of John Stewart. I almost have to feel like something else was going on there.

I thought she'd steal the ring so recently entrusted to John.

He ain't giving any woman a ring.

Well, that's not good, The Watchmen series was a complete dumpster fire.
The Leftovers was even worse. Without question, it's the most laziest written show I've ever seen. The only impressive thing about that trainwreck of a series was how that dumb frick managed to stretch the most extremely thin ideas into one hour episodes.

Let me guess, your favorite show is Chicago Fire.

And stealing the ring is pointless, unless the ring chooses you

I watched the first episode this evening. I thought it was pretty good. I'm not familiar with much of the Green Lantern lore and stuff, so one of you mouth-breathers needs to clue me in on why I should be angry and who I should focus that on.

My only experience with the green lantern is that shitty Ryan Reynolds movie, so I can’t help you there.
I may have missed the post if this has been brought up before. Given we have confirmed aliens that can replicate a human down to their DNA and no ring on the body, how do we know that dead Hal is not a decoy alien and the real Hal isn’t locked up somewhere?

This is what I’m thinking. It wasn’t really Hal we saw at the end. Either he faked his death or he’s been taken prisoner.
