Maybe, but hopefully they spend enough time in the early years to build him up; otherwise, it'll not be all that emotionally satisfying.

Typical Lindelof trash

Oh it’s so bad. It took me 3 tries to finally get through it. If you like the character and DC they butchered it. If you like shows it’s just a bunch of cursing at each other and everyone cutting each other down for no reason. You have the idiotic thing with the dad shooting apples off the kids head. You have all the girl bosses, the political crap, the over explanatory dialogue, the detective aspect where detectives act like retards in their job. I haven’t read the threads on the board yet but anyone who likes this is either retarded, politically motivated or a Gunn shill.

Yes, the entire narrative is political but at this point in shows like that I kinda view it as comedy and can get through it that way but destroying the lore again and simple procedural stuff in the movie is just bad. The interrogation scene is stupid, the shooting apples stuff is stupid. The way Hal is treated by local law enforcement is stupid and not mildly stupid. Jon Stewart at the crime scene is stupid, Hal is also stupid. He’s not a city police trainee he’s a green lantern trainee, he can’t be that dumb. It’s just bad

I like that your video starts with a guy giving his version of "I don't care about this character, but let me pretend to care ."

That's only because he used to own a comic book store and has read every version of the character. No biggie.

I know nothing about Green Lantern but that jumped out to me as well. I typically really like Kelly McDonald but she’s annoying as hell in this and her character is a moron. I’ll give episode 2 a shot but some things need to improve.

And she’s also corrupt, she admits this to Stewart and he just doesn’t care. The entire situation with the local law enforcement makes no sense because it’s based on Linelofs moral perversion and not how reality works. I’m pretty sure they’ll all end up being aliens to justify it but it still doesn’t change how Hal is being treated or how they’re handling that side of it in the context of this universe.

Yeah, he's knowledgeable and still doesn't care about the character, but he will share what the host wants him to for the sake of the content. As the host says right before, they've been clowning on this show since well before they saw any of it. We have a bias to confirm.

This show is so fricking good. So many comic shoutouts. Chandler is killing it.

Yeah, they had been covering all of the news associated with it and saw all of the typical signs. They didn't just decide to hate it because muh racisms.
Most importantly, they are not wrong.

Watched the first two episodes tonight and the diner scene with John and the guy's wife about "white men" was totally ridiculous and out of place. Same with the girlboss sheriff shutting down Hal Jordan in the hospital.
Overall, I'm enjoying it, but the social justice filler was tiring.

Also feel like Makin's wife is the Manhunter and John will be compromised and that will be an important part of his training.

not worrying about some of that crap. Ep 2 was good tonight.
Again we're directly talking about how "aliens" can make a human body, and then we get a quick "Hal gets shot" misdirection. Makes me question what exactly we saw at the end of Ep 1. If nothing else, they're laying the groundwork that he isn't dead.
On another note, I liked how Stewart's bird was pecking on the bald dude's head.

Yep, pretty awful.
I feel like absolutely nothing happened in episode 2. No part of the story advanced at all.

This.
Writing on this show is predictable.

Nothing is going to happen until the last 3 episodes. Lindelof has admitted this is how he works his mystery box formula so get ready for nothing to happen.
