I didn't read the comics growing up, but I have a question.
I think I've watched most of the Green Lantern stuff on Max, cartoons, the movie, the director cut of the movie, and now Lanterns.
They've always showed the guardians as little blue guys/gals, but in Lanterns Laura Linney's character gets huge when Bernadette tells her to prove it.
She didn't seem too blue either.
Does that mean anything or am I looking into too much? Is it a new take on what they're supposed to look like?

She was blue, and the guardians have been referred to as blue by other characters on the show. I think Linney appearing large was meant to be imposing to a human who doubted her.

My issue with it is simple. It’s not a bad story but I keep hoping eventually the show about green lanterns will have green lanterns doing green lantern shite. But no, I guess I’m wasting my time.

Good show, I like it, good actors with Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler leading the way. Pierre is all muscled up and looks just like John Stewart with his light colored eyes and all. But I see where this show is headed with Hal Jordan becoming Parallax by turning his Lantern into a villain and inducing the fear persona. They even show it in the opening graphics with the yellow inside the lantern charger. Lol

This is actually not my complaint. I view this show as a stretched out origin story. By the time Stewart is the GL and introduced in a wider context you will have a far more fleshed out feeling for him.
If Batman Begins was a show, think how many episodes you go without Batman shite.

I don't know but that is my hope. Listening to the show runners after the credits makes me think he is actually dead but my hope is he isn't. I just like his character though. But this wouldn't be the first time the post show credits lead you on a bit.

It's a fair point. I don't think they have the budget to make a true green lanterns show. But, assuming Ellison keeps Gunn in place, I can see them making a green lanterns film after MOT. The show is doing well, so I could see a GL movie, with Hal, Stewart, Gardner, doing really well at the boy office.

Would explain why the show is called Lanterns rather than Green Lanterns.

I'm taking this show as a John Stewart origin story. So I fully expect for him to not get the ring until the last episode. I've been really enjoying the show thus far.
My main gripe with the show is that John is a giant a-hole. He's very pompous and a bit self-aggrandizing. There's nothing about him that has shown to be heroic yet. I'm hoping that is yet to come, but there's also not a lot of episodes left

There's only 2 episodes left, and the show hasn't been renewed for a second season. If they waste Parallax on two episodes of a one-season series, that would be even worse than what they've already given us here.
ETA: James Gunn's DC universe is too young for them to already introduce Parallax (seriously, there's no Flash, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, or even Cyborg or Martian Manhunter), and wasting Parallax on the last piece of an 8-episode miniseries would be a huge mistake. At this point, we need to be hoping this isn't where they're going with this.
