I enjoyed the show. I thought it was well done. But it didn't energize any renewal of my faith. I hope that it can for whoever is open to that though...

We were hooked on this after the first episode and really moved after the first few episodes. I know it’s some actors and actresses but the following of scripture by the shows just makes it all make more sense and real to me. I guess I am more of a visual learner. I understand scripture and Jesus so much better after viewing the series. Looking forward to the next series.

I feel like I learned how to be a good Catholic in Catholic school but apparently not how to be a proper Christian.

We don’t follow the Pope’s wrong-doings. We pray for him & follow the Catholic - Christian faith that Jesus founded.

Caught the first 3 episodes of season 4 today and must say that it’s getting real in 1st century Judaea.

My wife and I love this series. We’re in Season 2. We’ve had a tortuous journey with our faith and our practice. But we love this portrayal of Jesus and his disciples.
I read the posts debating who founded what religion, and I think Jesus would shake his head, smile and say, “Follow me”…or “Go, and sin no more.”
If anything, doesn’t this series show you what’s really important?

Jesus would. Jesus is not about a religion, Jesus is about a personal relationship between you and him.

Online/social media criticism of The Chosen is comical.

Nope. And many criticisms (from Believers) are deserved.

There is an obvious undertone of contempt, ridicule AND a clear lack of reverence for Jesus.

The "Jesus" is a non-Biblical caricature, featuring fabricated conversations, dialogues and reactions. It's a disgrace. The actor's expression is perpetually clown-like as though he's about to break into an off-color joke.

ANY and ALL Hollywood-Pop Media fare is CONTROLLED. The intent of this show from the get go was the seduction and relatability of "cool Jesus". The Chosen is Trojan Horse deception for those who can discern nuance and an obvious shadow agenda.

As intended. (Beware)

It's actually a brainwashing exercise. NO way is Hollywood - Pop Culture trying to actually HELP people come to Christ (yes, I know the alleged backgrounds of the "Christian" producers). It's a ruse, yes, a trap of sorts.

And it's ALL fictionalized, fabricated, and intended to convince viewers of an alt-version of the interaction and relationship between the Apostles, associates, and...this "Jesus" -- as "The World" wishes he were.

I haven't checked every single quote but I've looked up multiple scenes in the show and it's word for word from Scripture

It follows actual scripture more than any show I've seen...I hope you give it a chance.

Which frankly isn't saying much, is it?

I've check it out more than need be.

No thanks.

Partial and fabricated truth is still a Lie. It's shame so many are willing to compromise on a script and cast so insulting. I get it; people WANT to "know Jesus" (This show ain't and won't be it).

Please point out the "partial truths" and "Fabricated truths" from The Chosen. Not the clearly fictionalized scenes intended to give a glimpse into what might have gone on or are a composite intended to relay several different accounts... but in no way goes against scripture... but the scenes that veer away from scripture and are then opposed to scripture. I'll wait.

14 Reasons Why I Won't Watch'The Chosen'

quote:

We are living very near the return of Jesus Christ, in the solemn day of atonement. If the Christian life is a battle and a march, we have no time to waste, let alone on theatrical shows produced by those consulting with the Antichrist power and Ignatius's spiritual-formation teachings.

There is much about The Chosen that should concern the sincere Christian.

This show blends every major religion into one pot: a mystic, pantheistic, ecumenical, feministic, Jesuit, and Mormon golden calf.

It is candy-coated with Biblical references to appear Bible-based while treating the Word of God as just another book and blurring any distinction between God's remnant movement and the apostate church.

Let’s look at examples of how this show twists Scripture and demeans Christ (see Link for full critique)

#1 – “Follow Your Heart”

Jesus meets Nicodemus in The Chosen series, and much of their conversation seems scriptural. There are subtle changes, however, such as adding, "What does your heart tell you?"—a popular Disney line.

#2 – A Hearsay Gospel - The show attempts to destroy the inspiration of Scripture, portraying it as a common book comprised of hearsay.

#3 – An Arrogant Forerunner -
In The Chosen, John the Baptist is arrogant, disrespectful, and always questioning Jesus.

#4 – Destroying Scripture for Satire -
While John the Baptist disrespects Christ, Peter disrespects John the Baptist, calling him "Creepy John".

#5 – Uplifting… Mary - Mary worship was brought into this show by Roman Catholic influence.

#6 – A Doctrine Swap- Show Producer Dallas Jenkins stated in an interview, "Our intentions are different from the Bible's intentions". The Bible’s intentions were to uplift Christ, so what are his?

#7 – Disciples or Drunks? - In the show, many Biblical characters are depicted as drunks.

#8 – Repentance Not Necessary-Although the true Jesus preached repentance, in the first three seasons of The Chosen you might hear the word mentioned three or four times total—and casually, without conviction. This is intentional. When The Chosen Jesus supposedly quotes Luke 5:32 in the show, he omits the word repentance and simply says he is “calling sinners”. Calling sinners to what? The show is calling sinners to a false gospel where repentance is not needed.

#9 – A Premature Arrest - Jesus is arrested by Roman soldiers prior to the Mount of Olives, a story that is not found anywhere in the Bible.

#10 – Demeaning Christ - To bring God down to our level, The Chosen includes a scene where Jesus prepares a sermon and rehearses well-known passages, making them feel more human and common than inspired by His Father.

#11 – An Unscriptural Script -
Unscriptural additions pepper The Chosen. Some seem innocuous, others are blatantly Catholic, and some amuse the imagination while instilling doubt.

#12 – Prayers to Mary Behind the Scenes - The Chosen Jesus actor Jonathan Roumie has quite a following, and it’s concerning how his influence is used.

Roumie has a “rosary live” broadcast which attracts many viewers. On the Livestream, he teaches viewers the Catholic rosary, to pray to dead saints, and pray to a dead Mary as well as ask her for the forgiveness of sins.

#13 – A Catholic Christ? -Interviews with The Chosen Jesus actor Jonathan Roumie reveals he admits his depiction of Jesus is inspired by the Pope, whom he personally visited and received a blessing from.

#14 – A Troubling Theme and Mystic Music -Topping things off, the music for The Chosen is produced by men such as Dan Haseltine, an avowed teacher of spiritual formation, who said about the production of the show’s music that he, “wanted it to have a little chaos.”

You’re wasting your time expecting logic from a guy that thinks aliens built Fort Jefferson because it was impossible to transport bricks via ship in the 1800s. He has his only little version of history comprised of memes and 4chan posts.

YET...The Pope is said to be ALL RCC's "Great Inspirational Leader" and Agenda Setter.

With all due respect and sincerity -- How do well-meaning RCC's reconcile a subversive anti-Christ Pope as their so-called "leader"?

Why don't RCCs react as Jesus did with the Pharasees and Moneychangers?

Jesus Christ called out the Pharisees as fakes, pretenders, letting them know HE knew they were of their "father" ( Satan' own).

Our Lord flipped over the Moneychangers' tables at the Temple, (the House of God) in anger.
