For me, growing up Catholic, Jesus was always portayed as almost non-human, untouchable, not like us. That and certain other things made me leave religion and question everything. After just starting season 2 of the Chosen, I have to say I have a renewed faith in Jesus and what he did. Anyone else experience something like this?

Same here. Said the same thing to a coworker just last week. I had the same initial reaction upon seeing the portrayal of Jesus in The Chosen. Almost a reflex reaction. Thankfully, I was blessed with a dad who taught me at a young age what the scripture says about Jesus. Fully God. Fully man, except for sin.

Awesome series. Jonathan Roumie is Catholic and has a lot of good content reading scripture on the Hallow app.

I’m a revert back to Catholicism. Once I discovered the history and early church fathers and dove into the intellectual and philosophical writings I was on fire. My Catholic education didn’t provide any of it sadly.

Looks interesting. I'm going to start watching. Helping faith in Jesus never hurts.

Fantastic show. The fact that it's a multi-season show and not just a miniseries or movie really allows these characters to become fleshed out, and the actors make the most of the material they are given.

Love this show. Just finished season 3. They do an excellent job of depicting the humanity of Jesus. It seems like they do a really good job of sticking to scripture. Any artistic liberties seem to add to the gospel and not lead it astray. The way they depict Christ connecting with each individual on their own unique level is really moving in a lot of scenes.

It is written and directed by a Baptist, produced by Mormons, stars a Catholic and for all of that it is better than if it had a viewpoint of any one religion.

Just finished season 2. They is very well done. A great portrayal of how Scripture tells this story.

Everyone could watch this, and see how good it is, Christian or not.

They are doing an excellent job of balancing His human and Divine aspects. Again, its very well done.

That's one of the unfortunate things from "religions". Christianity is a relationship. They show is doing a great job showing that.

Well said.

Online/social media criticism of The Chosen is comical. Folks are up in arms over Peter being unsaintly/normal dude and how John the Baptist is shown as an eccentric.

They must not have read the Bible.

1. St. Peter did quite a few unsaintly scenes in the gospels

2. St. John the Baptist lived in the desert and ate bugs in lieu of bread

Wife and i just started season 1 after the recommendation from my parents and the actor portraying Jesus makes you believe you are watching Jesus. Amazing series.

100%

It's the best depiction of Jesus that I've seen, at least how I imagine he would've been

I lost of bit of my faith over the years and this show brought me back. I've heard the same from friends and relatives too.

The Jesus Buddy statue and the sketch of the laughing Jesus are my two favorite images of Jesus. The Chosen has portrayed Jesus with an awesome sense of humor. I think that is actually more true to form than we might imagine.

I feel like this series is different than most films that deal with Christ because it's more about the disciples, and their relationships with Him. Whether I should or not from watching a TV series, I felt like I knew more about them after watching. The Chosen shows how they feel about each other when each one comes into the fold. It shows that some had petty jealousies and how some have a genuine dislike for each other. They were flawed men just like all of us are. They discussed each other, what they thought things he said meant and even what they think he will do next. They show how following him affected some of their families. I have no idea how much of that is true, but it all seems very natural.
