Enjoyed it. I liked the lack of dialogue. It was different and worked for me. Only thing I didn’t understand was the sand people showing Boba the pillaging of that settlement. Didn’t make sense to me?

Fight scenes are horrendous but I do have to remind myself it's for kids...right?

In a way, I get that. Star Wars has a pretty strong history of tossing something in for the kids that come across just awful (Ewoks, Jar Jar, Porgs, to name a few). It was a legit concern the first time he popped up on screen.

Here's a tip- give the Baby Yoda thing a chance, roll with the show. You won't be disappointed. This is the way; I have spoken.

I mean, baby Yoda is universally loved by audiences, and he's not even the best part about the show. But you do you. I haven't heard that take from anyone before.

Showed that it's just another kids show. If that's your thing well...you keep doing you.

An actual reasonable response and not someone getting upset.

Baby Yoda wasn't a kids addition, say like when Scrappy-doo was added to the the Scooby-doo cartoons. Its addition had more of an appeal for parents.

Mando/Baby Yoda develop a father/son bond. Think 1948's Bicycle Thieves or Life Is Beautiful.

I'm sure people are sick of me saying this and I don't care....give complete control of SW content over to Favreau and Filoni. They understand the universe and more importantly they respect it. Also about the appeal of Boba...he was just fricking cool and mysterious. It was easy as a kid to play with the toys and imagine him going on BH missions. It was clear from Chewbaca and Han that Boba was to be feared and respected...he was known.

The young Tuskan Raider boy was leading Boba and the Rhodian to dig for water gourds and they saw smoke over the dunes. The boy simply went to investigate what was going on before continuing. In context, it makes sense for him to want to know what was going on either from childish curiosity or more mature situational awareness.

It's obviously setting up a confrontation toward the end of the season. Boba is shown to be the Crime Boss around those parts. The guys pillaging that home was obviously a gang (biker gang which was a bit cheesy). They tagged the guys house with the other Crime Lord's logo. So I guarantee at the end of the season he will have to defeat that "Gang" and Crime Lord. Possibly in a flash back.

As far as a time frame his flashbacks are set during Return of the Jedi. His current story line is set 5 years AFTER Return of the Jedi.
It is also set right after Season 2 of The Mandalorian.

This makes me think. Five years after RotJ Luke Skywalker is at the height of his power. You’d think Boba Fett would want to lay low, seeing as he tried to kill Luke and his friends more than once and is closely linked to Vader and the empire. Instead he makes himself the very public crime lord on Luke’s home planet? Seems he’s asking for trouble.

In all our minds Boba and his firing rocket projectile was the coolest because his figure was the rarest. That one choice by Kenner to make him mail in offer only raised his stock in a way only kids of the era can understand.

Exactly right. The neighborhood kids gathered around when you got your boba fett

Yeah good thing Boba didn't stay with the mandolarians at the end of season 2. Luke may have got him.

Love it. It's setting up an inevitable showdown between our new hero and our childhood fave. It's fantastic storytelling, and the best part is that we get Favreau and Filoni calling the shots. Those two have been unbelievably great so far. It's so much fun being a fan of these shows bc they fricking deliver.

Not that Boba had insight when it came to Luke's thoughts, but Tatooine is the last place that Luke wants to be. He spent his young life wanting to get as far from his home planet as possible. If you wanted to stay clear of Luke in the time frame of The Book of Boba, Tatooine is the place to be.

You don't want to eat Sarlacc. That shite slowly digests over a thousand years.
