I’ll never understand how everyone has always had such a hard-on for Boba Fett and the mandos. Such boring characters originally.
Disney+ has a good track record with me and Cobra Kai doesn’t come out until Friday. I’m sure it’ll be entertaining enough.

Agree although i liked the Mandalorian. I think they went to the well one too many times with this one. I see some diminishing returns for Disney given the production costs of these things.

I don't know how a 60 yr old career secondary actor carries and entire show that Disney wants to make into a huge hit.
This concept is thin at best and obviously nothing more than a money grab by The Mouse.

He doesn't have to carry the whole show. There are many interesting characters and good actors to help carry the show. In particular, his Asian sidekick is a fantastic actress.

I keep tapping the down vote. I wish I could give you more than one for that moronic statement.

Well, now we know how he escaped the Sarlacc...and how much it fricked him up.
I liked how they had Jennifer Beals playing the Twi'lek Cantina owner.

Great first episode and is starting to fill-in the blanks of his past, while laying the groundwork for how he'll earn respect as a ruler, not just thru fear like Jabba.
Cinematography, sets, costumes, CGI, etc. are all Mando series worthy.
I only wished it was longer than 35 minutes.

Yeah it looks so good on screen. Too many shows have such poor lighting but Favreau, Filoni, and Rodriguez knocked it out of the park in episode 1. They also tell a lot of story with very little dialog.

I thought some of the CGI might have been a bit meh but everything else was solid. It is a luxury to have two lead actors with this much experience between them. You can trust them to carry any scene or deliver any dialogue.
Temuera Morrison isn't particularly well known in the states but he's had a pretty impressive career in New Zealand. For such a tiny country New Zealand has churned out an impressive number of high quality actors, though they can't match Australia's ability to produce highly trained and talented actresses by the dozen.
I'd say its a good start to the series. It sets the table so we know what future conflicts are coming and establishes the back story of what exactly happened to Bobba.

for me it was because the character had the perfect setup to allow a child's imagination to run wild. cool character, little to know knowledge of the character or the Mando's - it allowed a child to create any backstory they wanted.

You can tell they're really going to follow the blue print of the Mando series with this show, which I'm good with.
Really solid first episode, I'm excited to see where the show goes from here. When done right, I love living in the Star Wars world.

I liked the first episode.
We see how he got out the Sarlaac.
We learn star wars has ninjas and Goro from Mortal Kombat lives under the sand in Tatooine.

Mixed in with Ray Harryhausen's creature, Ymir (from 20 Million Miles To Earth).

Hooked me just like the Mandalorian did. The Easter eggs and callbacks along with the settings, pacing, and music took me right back to '77 sitting in the theater.

Exactly. It feels like Star Wars.

Watch Underneath the Helmet on Disney+. This little 20 minute show explains the origin of Boba Fett to the trilogy and beyond. A little unknown fact was he was introduced to the public in a parade before the release of Empire Strikes Back. This show explains a lot of the mystic of Boba Fett.

Was not sure how they were going to introduce the character into the show. Love how they tied in the current character and reflection back when Han knocked him off the desert speeder into the sand monster to lead up to where we are at now. This show has a lot of promise.

DownHome, I came to post that very same thing. If anyone has the slightest interest in Boba, watch that behind the scenes segment, it answers all the questions about his origin and popularity. It also has some footage I hadn’t seen before.

Wow that was short.
I kind of got bored with the lack of dialog, I still followed along but then when I was expecting them to flash back to the "present" it just ends.
Not that I didn't like it, I was just expecting more. Probably should have waited for a couple episodes to come out but I know I will be watching the next episode the day it comes out.
