I’ll never understand how everyone has always had such a hard-on for Boba Fett and the mandos. Such boring characters originally.

It's all part of the "bad guys are good guys" movement in Hollywood.

That started around 20+ years ago

I’m referring to Boba Fett, himself. For some reason, he was always a fan favorite from the original release of Star Wars on…I guess the mystery and jet pack combined with the persona…

I just always found it meme worthy and kinda funny as he was originally just a throwaway character meant more as a prop…who kinda caught on

Not sure if anyone here is into 3D printing but I made Boba's blaster pistol, I'm working on the Boba helmet to and was hoping to have that done by the shows release, but that didn't quite happen.

I know for me, as a 12 y/o in 1980, the interest started with the Boba Fett toy. I never got to pre-order like others did in '79, but I wanted to after seeing the colorful ads. But once I got the toy, I was hooked.

Easily the coolest design of the SW action figures, with the sleek mask, colorful armor & the jet pack. Since his character was a mystery, I practically invented an Iron Man/superhero-ish personna for him and played for countless hours.

I'm in but with others that do not drop all episodes at one time, I will start it a few days before the last episode drops.

I'd love to see how your helmet turns out. I've got a few helmets but this is one I am missing

I prefer to binge a series, too. However, if this is anything like the Mando series which had multiple surprise character cameos/storylines, you run the risk of seeing major spoilers over these next 7 weeks.

I'm not binge-ing again. Both Jedi appearances were slightly spoiled for me in Mando season 2. I didn't know their storylines, so it wasn't totally ruined, but knowing they were gonna appear ruined their surprising entrances.

Yes, the fascination from the 1977 theater-going kids was the original Boba action figure. While we could go out and buy all the others at the store to get Boba you had to mail off for it with some proofs of purchase from other figures. So Boba became THE SW toy. IIRC I got mine in the winter of '78. In all our minds Boba and his firing rocket projectile was the coolest because his figure was the rarest. That one choice by Kenner to make him mail in offer only raised his stock in a way only kids of the era can understand.

I’ll be sure to share it when completed. What helmets do you have? I completed an Iron Man one a few months back:

I never knew all that, I’ve never really understood where all the love for Boba came from originally so that makes some sense

I don’t mind the content involving him (except for the part where some pretend he didn’t absolutely die in ROTJ) and enjoy it but didn’t understand the original fascination

It was the mystery behind him and he had a lot of cool shite. His ship was different from all the rest and it was named Slave 1 which was menacing. Suit design was probably the single biggest reason.

The extended universe book explored Mandalorians and made them popular. Clone wars and Rebels also made their stories very very appealing and interesting. They are far from boring characters.

For shame. People are trying to be edgy and cool in this thread. Give this to them. It might be months before they get a chance to say they hated LoTR or the like.

His character was teased and previewed by the toy lineup. Even before we first saw Boba Fett in Empire, kids could get his Star Wars figure by sending in proofs of purchase of 10 other SW figures. It was the only figure like that, and created a buzz around the character.
