Agreed

I don’t want to say it was forced, but it felt out of place

Showed that it's just another kids show. If that's your thing well...you keep doing you.

Nothing more adult than a story of a father protecting his "child." If that's a "kids show" in your view, then you're probably a kid.

I always laughed at the thought the sandpeople would just chill and snipe racers.

And star wars movies never said they were dumb. I.e. single file marching to hide numbers.

But I do agree that the goro type animal cgi was ridiculous.
I do hope they show the end of bib fortuna. It's pretty classic Boba fett.

Looked to me like he burned himself with his own flamethrower while escaping from the Sarlaac.

I’m referring to Boba Fett, himself. For some reason, he was always a fan favorite from the original release of Star Wars on…I guess the mystery and jet pack combined with the persona…

Honestly, I think it was just because he looked cool. Then, the old EU took that ball and ran with it, turning Boba Fett into an important character.

Same thing with Darth Maul.

Seems to be a little rehabbing of the Sand People going on. They joined in helping to fight the Krayt Dragon in Mando, and Boba is going to walk away respecting them. Far different perspective than OT, or even PT impressions of them.

Possibly. I remember some of the early Star Wars stuff about the Sand People and it was... "not particularly nice people, who believed in a very harsh life style, but one that had kept them alive through the very worst Tattoine could throw at them. But honorable."

Think of them as Apaches in the Westerns... with all the good and bad that implies.

They have this available to watch on Disney+ as a standalone. It's actually a pretty good short.

After having seen the first episode, I still think the 30 minute runtime per episode feels cheap. I would also that that reliance on flashbacks doesn't work when the runtime is so short.

This episode felt like "stuff happening." There was really no obvious setup for what the series will be about moving forward.

Also, the actor that plays Boba Fett is too old and out of shape for me to take seriously. Boba Fett ages naturally unlike the clone army who all aged at an accelerated pace. he should be about the same age as his dad in Attack of the Clones.

Also, why is he so fat? Again, they just kind of plucked him from obscurity during the Mandalorian. He's in his 60s now and probably wasn't planning on playing future physically demanding rolls, so I get it, but it's so distracting when you're shown scenes that take place literally right after RotJ and somehow, his time in the Sarlac pit led him to gain about 40lbs despite all the shite he went through.

While there was no 1st episode cliff-hanger or hook like, say, saving Baby Yoda in Mando's first episode, I think the obvious setup was simply established in the first BoBF teaser: Boba takes over Jabba's crime syndicate.

This episode is exploring how Boba intends to (untraditionally) rule (and what conflicts that may bring), while also filling his past from ROTJ to Mando thru flashbacks.

Just watched it. God, it's so boring and poorly written. Fett is a giant pussy nothing interesting really happens except for the fight scenes which I guess they hope hypnotize people into not thinking about what they just saw, kind of like in the sequel trilogy.

That was the pilot episode, the one that's supposed to engage the audience and make us want to watch more. Instead, it just went through the motions for 37 minutes.

Like I've said, these characters would have been a great addition to The Mandalorian, but Disney being corporate hacks had to spin off a whole new show. I'll try episode 2, but it's not looking good.

Yeah. I hate that. Both Luke and Han had sorry lives after Return of the Jedi according to Disney. Though in my head the EU lives. Luke defeated Joruus and Thrawn. Had twins. Jan and Leia had kids. New Jedi. Now republic.

It's a goddamn shame Heir to the Empire didn't become a movie.
THe crappy cgi cartoon out now is 100000× better than the Disney trilogy

Heir to the Empire, fan film.

Boba was 10 during Attack of the Clones.

Add 3 years -> Revenge of the Soth
Add 20 years -> A New Hope
Add 2 years -> Empire Strikes Back
Add 1 year -> Return of the Jedi
Add 5 years -> Mandalorian

That would make him 42. Who says the Kaminoans didn't accelerate his aging?

Maybe the Sarlaac pit gave him Edema.
We can't pretend to understand the xenobiology of that universe.
