To me it’s either The Godfather or The Godfather 2. I consider them in the top 10 of movies ever made. Godfather 2 may be the only sequel that’s better than the original

"They were all smiling. I was smiling to, but I was dying inside. I wanted out, but I couldnt get out of the car. But what was I gonna say? Let me out? Im afraid? I'm a chicken? I could never go back to that neighborhood again. They'd call me a punk, a mut, they'd say I have no heart. I kept hearing my father's voice in my head, 'dont blow it son, these people will hurt you son, dont waste your talent son'. Then I kept hearing Sony's voice 'be careful, C. Dont lose it, C. Keep your head, C'. Somebody pulled the chain, and I was going down the fricking toilet"

Still love Donnie Brasco because it shows the mafia as they really are, just like in The Sopranos.

Working humps. Nothing glamorous. And murderers over nothing but a truck load of coats.

It was Pacino's last great acting.

Not the best but underrated is The Drop.

Some good mafia movies out there, but they all pale to the television mafia GoaT.

It's pretty well established that the Godfather 1 and 2 are 2 of the greatest movies of all time, much less just the mafia genre.

That's actually a good point.

The Sopranos showed how the American Mafia was reduced to fighting over garbage truck routes to sell crack and petty theft from construction sites, after the Gambinos were finally taken down.

Yep, The Sopranos made it a central theme of how low-rent some of their operations were, and the mundane lifestyle.

As I watch it more and more over the years, it's pretty clear to me that The Sopranos is really a comedy with dramatic mob overtones than anything else.

Gotta go with Godfather 2, but Brasco was great. Johnny Depp did a good job as undercover FBI while being groomed by Pacino.
