Pattinson was a main star of a movie series that made $3.3 billion. I know this board hates Twilight but at the end of the day he's still a bigger name worldwide than Jonah Hill.

I don't give a damn about worldwide. In the US, Hill is bigger and a better actor.

Paul Dano is a damn good actor.

He was amazing in There Will Be Blood.

Seems he would fit this character very well.

Exactly. The Nolan Batman was ridiculous how stiff and slow he moved. I loved the films but found myself laughing at times watching them, especially today.

I'm tired of seeing young batman and his origins.

Rebuild the entire universe around Nightwing.

Start the first movie with Nightwing already active and Batman with Jason Todd as his ward. This sets up a bunch of awesome characters comic book fans love but have new shiny appeal to the mass audience.

Nightwing sets up a perfect cinematic universe for everything from a Batman universe to a Justice League reboot. No more rehash of batman's origins.

And please make it a decade long slow burn. DC trying to jam every single hero and team up into a three year span doesn't work. Take your time. Comic book fans will see the movies.

And please, for the love of God, get a vision leader for the whole project, get a film editor and cinematographer that understands lighting and saturation. Get a writer who understands the source material, and get a director that understands pacing and establishment shots.

That’s going to be hard with a Batman that’s supposed to be young

Maybe this needs to be a tv miniseries rather than a major movie production.
Batman needs to take a break for the next 5/10 years before rebooting.

This movie will make 1.2-1.5 billion WW. Why would WB take such a long break?

Dano's version of the character will be named Edward Nashton, the man who in the comics later goes by the name Edward Nygma.

Robert Pattinson is starring in The Batman, with Zoe Kravitz set to play Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright on board as Batman ally Commissioner Gordon. Jonah Hill was at one point eyeing a role in the film as either Riddler or The Penguin, but the deal did not come to fruition. Reeves has said he plans to include a rogues gallery of Batman villains in the film.

I have a feeling it's going to be every bit as successful as this was...

Never. Dick Grayson, in every iteration he's in, is the greatest super hero ever.

I dont know why you added this into why the movie will bomb. If you are referencing that Riddlers name is different than its supposed to be, his actual name is Nashton. He changes it to Nigma when he becomes the Riddler.

WB isn't farting out a Batman flick directed by a person who actively hates the source material in an effort to keep the rights to the IP so I don't see why you'd compare it to Fant4stic.

Plus, it's being made by a director who has a couple of good movies under his belt. Not some hack who got lucky with an OK flick. I seriously doubt Matt Reeves is going to close himself off in a trailer and get high the whole time he's shooting Batman.

I think Dano is a good casting decision. a part of me, though, wishes it was feasible to bring in the Riddler and Joker actors from the Gotham series. Didn't care for their Penguin portrayal all that much though.
