I'd be ok with Danby Devito coming back and playing an R rated version of that character.

I have very low expectations...but that applies to most things.

I’d be okay with Devito playing Frank from Always Sunny in a Batman movie

'The Batman' Casts Peter Sarsgaard
quote:

Peter Sarsgaard is headed to Gotham City. The actor is joining The Batman, with filmmaker Matt Reeves sharing a photo of the actor Friday on Twitter, where he has been confirming other castings. Sources speculate Sarsgaard could be playing a corrupt cop named Wasserman or a district attorney. If he is indeed playing a district attorney, Sarsgaard's character would be one familiar to comic book fans: Harvey Dent, the D.A. who becomes the villain Two-Face.
quote:

The actor even has a Two-Face connection already. He is married to Maggie Gyllenhaal, who starred in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight as assistant district attorney Rachel Dawes, who had a romantic relationship with Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). Astute fans have noticed that she shared a photo of Sarsgaard on Instagram this week with a potential Two-Face tease. She captioned the photo, of her husband with his head half-shaved, "Half way through a shave."

Filming has begun. People are thinking this is Colin Farrel as The Penguin.

With so many villains, and the prior reports that this Batman would be more of a detective, I wonder of they are doing a take on The Long Halloween

I 100% agree that this is going to have a lot of Long Halloween influencing it. I think its going to be really fresh.

I would have thought Serkis would be Cobblepot and Farrell Alfred.

Farrell is too young for Alfred. Not saying is an old fart, but he can pass for late 50s-mid 60s.
