This show has a 93% critic on rotten tomatoes. If there’s still anyone among us all progressive and on the right side of history this should be a moment that makes you think you’re actually not.

Holy hell. Sooo episode 3 details that lesbian scissoring created the twin girls, the force is like some matriarchal thread that can be pulled on as needed, the Jedi are galaxy wide oppressors that also hate the scissoring witches...

I'm just at a loss here. I only thought the movies were bad.

Apparently there's dialogue that the galaxy doesn't like witches like them (lesbians)

The jedi are supposedly made out to be oppressors

That sounds incredible please don't let me down

What is the deal with Star Wars introducing witchcraft into shows and movies now? Rise of Skywalker, Asohka, now this show. The force wasn't fantastical enough? Episode 3 supposedly makes it seem like the force and the witches/witchcraft are the same.

Also, the whole manipulating midichlorians to create life was a novel concept that Shmi told Qui-Gon and Palpatine told Anakin about. Come to find out the Jedi knew about this power all the way back in the high republic days and even tried to train one of these children before Anakin?

I think any female non-jedi force user just basically comes across as a witch.

Theoretically there are many more individuals in the universe who can use the force than there are jedis.

The Jedis recruit from that pool but local practices are bound to pop up.

Yeah, it seems fine. It's all about the writing and storytelling for me. Make a good story and no one will care.

George/Filoni introduced the Night Sisters/Witches of Dathomir in Clone Wars. They are the females of Maul’s race and they are responsible for his restoration using the dark side but they aren’t related to the Sith.

They were wiped out by Dooku and Greivous during The Clone Wars. The Jedi video games talk about them and one of the party members of the main character is a descendant of them.

I don’t think these are the same witches in acolyte though. They’ve slowly made them more human like but they started out closer to Maul’s race.

Oh man... this is dangerously close to so-bad-it's-good territory. Sad to see

This. The night sisters were essentially the “dark side” clan of the witches of Dathomir, of which there were many clans, although most rejected the dark side of the force.

The stupidity of this plot line is that it wasn’t even a direct act of individuals which resulted in the creation of Anakin, if I remember correctly.

Plagueis and Palpatine were experimenting with immortality, which resulted in massive reverberations within the force which caused the force to respond and create Anakin.

People didn’t just create humans via the force.

That is an insane level of power that I am not even sure I can recall any other Star Wars character having.

I agree with this, I dont really care about how shitty the stars are if the show is good.

Every bit of the story I have read is bogus.

I also reject most creations that purposely disregard the foundation they were built upon, so it wasn’t made for me to begin with.

because we've been burned over, and over, and over, and over. and then maybe something we'll pop up and we'll think, ok maybe i'll give them another chance....and then we get burned again. and again. and again.

we have no capacity left to give them the benefit of the doubt. like i said earlier on either this thread or the other one - i am actively hoping for the downfall of Disney.

but that said - do you have an example of a show that was universally considered great that the majority of this board refused to watch even a single episode? i cant think of anything.

The Nightsisters have been around for a while now. They were actually really well done when they came out in Clone Wars, exploring how different factions interacted with the force as the Jedi/Sith method of using the force isn't the only way it can be harnessed.

That being said, there is nothing good about how they've been used in this recent stuff. I don't think this show is tying into the Nighsisters though, at leat not what i've witnessed so far.
