Also the Mandolorian, Rogue One, Solo, and Andor are all great.
MAndo and Solo were decent........ Rogue One was pretty good. Andor was fantastic.

Yeah imagine if Lucas would've held onto Star Wars another 35 years how many more live action shows we would have gotten

He built Star Wars up to the biggest entertainment/film IP in history and sold it for over $4 billion. Every time a movie came out, it dominated.

Now we have a Star Wars relegated to low rating streaming shows with no movies in the past 5 years and won't have another one until 2026.

Surely George was the problem.

That’s the thing, you could do all sorts of different shows. Mando should’ve been an episodic tour through the galaxy through the eyes of a bounty hunter. There are hundreds of shows to pull from for that. You can do political intrigue and espionage like Andor. You could have a militaristic show about the empire. You can do like a Jedi academy show for kids. The possibilities are endless but instead they’ve focused all their energy on tearing down the OG themes of SW to change it into the trash pile it is now.

he doesn’t need to visit galaxy’s edge, He has been watching star wars since before Leslie Headland was born.

yeah but i don’t think we like how he understands it.

Everything he’s done since ROTJ has made Jedi’s and the force less cool. The only upside was better fights.

this episode served no point at all they could have addressed this episode going back to episode 3

one of my biggest gripes was that the show revealed too much too early, showing us exactly what happened would have been worse.

It's cool that you think that but feel free to bump this thread when an imaginary universe from your mind sells for over $4 billion.

Thanks to Lucas for all he did, but I think all the shite Disney is getting and all the shite he got over prequels is exactly why we didn't get more star wars shows/movies when he had the rights.

He made a movie for kids and then the fanbase tried to make it something more

the PT isn’t why it sells for 4 billion.

Thr Force is cool
X-wings are cool
lightsabers are cool
the falcon is cool

Most people don’t let Jar Jar Binks ruin the things they actually enjoy.

He didn’t make the movies for kids. They’re for mass appeal, all ages and there’s a very small amount of kid specific things in the PT, basically none in the OT.

How many times have I WANTED to fly clear across the country and go to an overpriced theme park to wander around some C level Sci-Fi set that sorta resembles Star Wars, but is mostly filled with sequel movie garbage and other than a life size Millennium Falcon (with the wrong radar dish) has no connection to the OT?

None. That's the level of interest I have in anything Disney Star Wars.

I'd rather go to Harry Potter exhibit at Universal.

But WTH does any of that have to do with Disney Star Wars and how horrible this franchise has been pile driven into the ground?

George Lucas hasn’t made a good star wars movie since 1983. He also gave us nothing from 83-1999 and then nothing but a couple of cartoon shows from 2005 till he sold it.

It was supposed to be a kid’s movie for 12-year-olds that were going through puberty, who don’t know what they’re doing, and are asking all the big questions: What should I be worried about? What’s important in life? And Star Wars has all those things in there. They’re buried in there but you definitely get it, especially if you’re young. - George Lucas

Half an hour into the first movie you have two bodies being roasted after being killed. There are murders, torture, war, politics and mass genocide.. definitely kids stuff.

Hasn't been a debate in years

There are a two hangers on in this thread, but I am becoming convinced that one of them just doesn't want to admit he was wrong. . .

. . .and the other is just using it as a medium to call people ist/phobes. Probably because blah blah Trump blah incel blah blah.
