Dunkirk was awful. The fanboys won't admit it but it was poorly done.

I was a fanboy, now I tend to agree with you.

I’m okay with Dunkirk, but Tenet is the first Nolan movie I’ve liked since The Dark Knight. Thought Inception, Interstellar, and The Dark Knight Rises were all kind of a mess.

List them for Tenet.

No, but it was not that great imo. Haters are too hard on it and fan boys are too high on it. But I thought it was pretty good.

This one I was not a huge fan with. But it was ok.

I kind of agree. Wasn't impressed at all the first time i watched it, didn't feel like anything really happened. Watched it again recently and enjoyed it a lot more. But yes, the plot could have been better.

So you've been quite critical of the film since its release. Although some of your criticisms about the historical accuracy of things like the dogfights have been refuted by experts.

Regardless, you say that its "fanboys" who won't admit it was poorly done because it was "awful," yet here is your post in a thread titled: Dunkirk is the worst movie of all time
quote:

It was a good movie. Nowhere near the acclaim it has gotten on here and elsewhere. But to say it was even bad, much less the worst, is just silly. I thought Nolan did a pretty poor job in some areas (air to air, sense of scale) but the movie was engaging overall.
So according to you, calling it "bad" was silly. So using your own words, calling it "awful," is silly at the very least.

Besides, "awful" movies don't get both universal critical and commercial acclaim then get nominated for 8 Oscars, including best picture and best director, especially when those nominations were neither surprising nor controversial. Personally, it's probably my 2nd least favorite Nolan movie (behind Insomnia), and I enjoyed it much more in the theater; however, as someone once correctly said, calling it bad is "silly."

And I do think I have the most appropriate review. Still not sure what I think about it, but this is true in the immediate for most people leaving the theater:

Ummmm, I'm just going to come out and admit it: I didn't get it. I haven't read the plot synopsis either (I will shortly after making this post), but I did not understand this about 25% of this movie. It felt like listening to the two Weinstein brothers talk to each other when you think you are a somewhat intelligent individual and they just completely talk past you. "Look, Eric, I get the ten dimensions, but how the frick did you get to 14 dimensions? Slow the hell down. And Bret I have no idea what you're talking about on molecular structure endings either."

Do you wait for any Nolan thread to pop up so you can post about Dunkirk?

Anyway, it’s quite fascinating how many movies get called “awful” or “horrible” these days, many of which are at the least well made movies. I guess those people have never actually seen a truly horrible movie before?

It’s also funny how those have to create their own thread to let everyone know it’s awful, instead of just posting it in the actual movie thread

Tenet was founded by JDW in the future. Neil explicitly reveals this at the end of the film.

Protagonis
t: Hey, you never did tell me who recruited you, Neil.

Neil: Haven't you guessed by now? You did! Only not when you thought. You have a future in the past. Years ago for me, years from now for you.

Protagonist: You've known me for years?

Neil: For me.. I think this is the end of a beautiful friendship.

Protagonist: But for me it's just the beginning.

Neil: We get up to some stuff. You're gonna love it! You'll see. This whole operation is a temporal pincer.

Protagonist: Who's?

Neil: Yours. You're already halfway there. I'll see you in the beginning, friend.

Yeah, but the people he recruited go on to recruit him. It’s a paradox.
