If there’s one thing they didn’t quite get right it’s Rupert. He became a caricature of himself rather than someone with an actual personality and story line. His behavior wasn’t believable at all.

fricking the marriage counselor doesn't fall in that category for you?

Yeah, for a show that does a really good job in bringing nuance to its characters, Rupert in this episode was weird as hell.

Rupert was always an ultra petty character and everything is turning on him, including his team about to lose to his ex white’s team.
he was definitely spiraling.
he’s also supposed to be a multimillionaire isn’t he? it’s hard to stay grounded when you have that much frick you money.

He lost his lifelong team and love of his life in a divorce at the start of this series. And his response was to be as smooth and cocky as ever. He’s still rich. He can still get the hot girl. Cheating on his wife and possible losing West Ham wouldn’t send him spiraling when he’s already faced worse. It was an odd response for him.

i don’t think she was ever the love of his life, nor do I think he’s capable of having one.

idk, get divorced is one thing, but he still wants to win at everything.
he took every chance he had to get back at Rebecca. and buying West Ham was part of that. now he’s losing, and billionaires don’t exactly handle losing well.

It wasn’t just losing to Richmond. It was everything. The accusations, losing the team, being exposed despite the front he puts on. I can agree most probably wouldn’t react that way but I can see it given everything going on and his often times childish personality

He wasn’t childish till this year. He was petty but always smooth. Even when he lost darts to Ted, he kissed his girl and walked out with a smile. The Rupert we got this year was totally different.

I think showing up at your old philanthropy event just to show up your ex is a bit much and buying a rival soccer teams to poach one of her coaches is also a bit cartoonish.
also there is a difference between getting a divorce and getting Me Tooed.

Higgins with the line of the entire season at the diamond dogs session, hell maybe the entire series

Watching the finale tonight.
Wish it was longer
I only say “no” like Roy now

Did Ted and Rebecca bang?

That had to be the most saccharine, paint by numbers finale ever.

I liked it when Mae straightened the picture of Geronimo. Just like Sam at the end of Cheers. Someone even said Cheers as she did it.

No, he, Beard, and Jane all ended up bunking at Rebecca's house, after a gas leak in their neighborhood.
Oh, now I just remembered my favorite line of the episode: Ted: "Eat, Pray, Love- style, right?" Rebecca: "More like Drink, Sleep, frick."
Just to be clear, I would absolutely watch that spin off.

I’ve been critical of this season but that was a great finale
This has to be the end. Tied it up perfectly

Did anyone else wonder if all of the happily ever afters were a dream Ted had? I didn't entertain the thought until they showed him waking up as his flight landed in KC... AFTER showing everyone else's post script.
Even if not, it was a great way to wrap up a fantastic show. Glad I finally got on board.
