Or with her relationship with Roy seemingly being rocky, does he fill her void?

My thoughts too. I feel like the finale will be Richmond beating West Ham in the FA Cup final. I felt Arlo's comment of "They still haven't won a trophy" right after they secured promotion was on purpose.

I thought so too, but I also think the offsides rule just might have changed from the eons ago when I was playing kid's soccer. I think the offensive player who first touches the ball cannot be past the last defender until the ball has been kicked, right? Still, it looked offsides to me, but that might have been the editing.
yea its offsides at the time of the kick. if he is on his own half of the field or is not behind the last non-goalie opponent at the time of the kick there its onside.

Not only that, but Morocco is very far from Nigeria. In fact, if Sam moved to Casablanca, he would still be closer to England than Nigeria.

Yea I just finished last week. Stopped watching midway through S2 because it just wasnt as good and it only got worse.
Still a decent show and Roy and Keeley are great, Higgins is awesome and Coach Beard too (although his stand alone episode was really stupid), but they ruined Nates character. Him getting pissed was dumb enough but the reason they had him get pissed was even worse. Dude he promoted you from crap, you should be forever grateful, not turn on him because he hurt your feelings.

Everything was in his head except for Ted kinda pushing him to the side a little when Roy came aboard.
Ted promoted him. Every time he had a good idea, Ted let it be known that it was Nate’s good idea.
He let everyone know the play in the first season was Nate’s when he was just the equipment manager.
He promoted him to coach.
He let him have all the credit with the Wonder Kid stuff.
He made it well known the false nine was Nate’s false nine.
I guess what I’m really trying to say is frick Nate.

He was talking to his Dad. Everything he said was really what he wanted to say to his Dad and couldn't. Ted took the brunt of something that really had nothing to do with him.

Yeah I got that. This whole show is based on how your relationship with your father can shape you.
Ted
Nate
Rebecca
Sam
Roy with Phoebe
Jamie
Am I missing any?
frick Nate.

This but he is also calling out the hypocrisy of Ted in a sort of way. Ted is kind of a stand in father for all the characters when they need a pep talk or friend. Nate saw this and wished his dad was more like Ted. He then starts to realize maybe Ted isn’t the best father to his own son, since he isn’t there for him.

Which is stupid. Nates relationship with his dad is a minor part of the plot. No sense in making that a huge issue with Ted and turning an extremely likeable character to someone you hate.
Ted made a shy guy that had literally no hope of being a coach into an assistant coach on a premier league football team. He could have never even dreamed of something like that without Ted. When someone treats you as good as Ted does, you dont take all your anger out on him.
The worst thing that you see happen to Nate and think "poor Nate" is people keep asking him if the suit he is wearing is the suit Ted gave him. That would get old sure, but there is no reason to think he should have taken his anger out on Ted.

This. Nate became increasingly paranoid about his position. He was always given credit when it was his idea but he actually lashed out at the end when he thought Ted was trying to sabotage him by giving him credit for the team strategy.
I also do generally agree that Nate's turn did seem a little quick. But the character traits of his turn were there that I think the actor himself pointed out. The fact that he lashed out immediately at Rebecca when he thought he was getting fired, how much he enjoyed roasting the team to inspire them in Season 1, etc.

Nate’s a dick obviously. And his anger is misplaced. But what he said about this is accurate. And Ted knows it. Interesting that Nate said it and not Dr. Fieldstone.

Nate has serious emotional problems
I like s2 a lot but they were a bit too light on what was going on with the team. I really hope they move some players on and explore that idea of the realities of sports. Especially given the backdrop of how Richmond operates. We don’t know exactly how much they were offered for Sam but at some point it’s malpractice for club the size of Richmond to turn down a huge sum of money for a player.
