Acclaimed essayist and novelist Ta-Nehisi Coates has been hired to pen the script for a feature reboot of Superman that will produced by J.J. Abrams.

“To be invited into the DC Extended Universe by Warner Bros., DC Films and Bad Robot is an honor,” said Coates in a statement to website Shadow and Act. “I look forward to meaningfully adding to the legacy of America's most iconic mythic hero."

“There is a new, powerful and moving Superman story yet to be told. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the brilliant Mr. Coates to help bring that story to the big screen, and we’re beyond thankful to the team at Warner Bros. for the opportunity,” said J.J. Abrams in the statement to S&A.

Will audiences be introduced to a Black Superman? That is the intent and something that the studio has been trying to find a way in for months if not a year or two, according to sources.

WB for some time has been trying to figure out how to reboot franchise with a Black Superman in lead role going as far as meeting with Michael B. Jordan to hear his pitch more then a year ago on what that would look like. MBJ not involved now but we shall see if that changes

Last year, acclaimed nonfiction writer and lifelong comic-book geek Ta-Nehisi Coates stumbled into an incredible opportunity: Publisher Marvel Comics asked him to write a superhero series. The plan was for him to pen a number of issues of Black Panther, ...
There was only one problem: He had absolutely no idea how to write a comic book. Didn’t know what word-processing program to use, didn’t know how to describe what the artist should draw, none of it.

He couldn’t stick to Black Panther, who he didn’t know how to write either?

They have to take him and emasculate one of the most iconic white male superheroes in existence?

frick leftists

I actually think JJ Abrams is a great choice for Superman. His palate and approach are kind of perfect for the Big Blue Boy Scout.

But Ta-Nehisi Coates doing the story of a white farm boy that is a paragon for "truth, justice and the American way"?

Holy shite will this be wokefied

I would say there might be a 50/50 chance at this point.

If not, we will earn how racist Pa and Ma Kent are, and the real struggle of the film is Clark Kent coming to terms with his white supremacy.

Lex Luthor is black and is actually the good guy.

Here's a quote from him about the heroes who rushed into the WTC on 9/11

quote:

“They were not human to me. Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could — with no justification — shatter my body.”

Now he's going to write a Superman movie.

Superman has a dream that can't be realized until Lex Luthor provides the solution. A kryptonite scalpel to perform the gender reassignment surgery.
