Gillespie (who directed Mr. woodcock and the Fright Night remake) had no business directing a story like this.

From Variety:
quote:

She’s like Kristy McNichol crossed with the Feral Kid from “The Road Warrior” in oversize Penny Lane sunglasses.

Not bad.

The villain is supposed to be boring, he was in the comic. Kara’s story and the visual spectacle of the different worlds Kara and Ruthye explore make up for it.

Maybe this would make sense if the comic was anything like the movie

You think it was a good idea to deliberately include the worst villain of the last 20 years of superhero movies?

Pretty obvious she's shitting on people who merely claim to be Christian but don't actually act like it
I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt so went and looked up exactly what she said. She inherently was not saying they aren’t acting like Christians. She was very clearly mocking Christian dads.

I just counted how many tickets were sold for Thursday opening day. Only looked at 1 theater (Cinemark Perkins Rowe). A total of 137 tickets sold for 16 showings tomorrow. 2 showings had 30+ people. A few under 10. A few had 16.

DC is not going to like the direction James Gunn is taking them. I have zero interest in seeing this movie. I never saw Superman bc I had no interest from the trailers. They will never learn.

This needs to be repeated daily. You’d think they would learn after 6 years now.

It’s telling that he’s gone from all out, constant press tour, constant tweets with updates and announcements for future projects with every other DC property under his belt to basically non existent for this one. I really think he’s out in May and MOT will be the last Gunn product we see from this round of DC.

He was everywhere. To be fair, he’s currently filming MOT so I’m sure he’s busy.

But peacemaker 2 was a giant red flag to me. You’re gonna tell me you’re the head of DC Studios and you’re creating a season of television that could bridge the gap between the DCEU and DCU, and you choose to make it about the concert for the shittiest band I’ve ever heard, “Nazis”, and bisexual orgies?

Instead of, you know, maybe explaining why the frick some of your characters can magically appear in the DCEU and DCU??

AND Superman is sent to destroy earth?

I hate this guy

Gunn's overdoing it with the dog. It's time to move on from that, IMO

People don’t realize how much trouble Peacemaker caused. He went out and repeatedly told people that Peacemaker was the center of the DCU and that Superman was pulled from theaters early because everyone needed to see Peacemaker. You had families who went to see Superman tuning in to see a pansexual orgy in the first scene of the show. I remember seeing a ton of videos popping up that night and the next day of fans infuriated by what happened. So he’s lost the normies that did show up for Superman and the hardcore DC fans were out after opening night of Superman. Gunn has fans but that’s the only people left and there’s not a ton of overlap with his fans and DC fans.

What puzzles me is how they handed full control of the entire DC reboot and universe over to this clown. Surely they asked what his vision and plan was. The moment he said “Well, we’re going to rename the Justice League to something that goes with my initials” is when they should’ve booted his arse out.

He just doesn’t fit with the theme of DC. He’s pretty narrow in what he does, found family stories with outcast characters, good vibes, humor, soundtrack, that sort of thing. DC characters are morally rigid. There’s some serious infighting, split loyalties, and barely held partnerships in the group. It’s way outside of Gunn’s wheelhouse.

Check this shite out

Rachel Brosnahan with an absolute MASTERCLASS on diffusing potentially controversial questions. . .giving them NOTHING to key on for rage bait.

Well Done, Rachel!

So if rotten tomatoes doesn't like it does that mean it's a good movie?
