lol. Let’s not do the LOST finale arguments again.

It was not a game the entire time. Taking it as Mike typing stories away of what happened. He’ll be a writer whenever they do the reunion show in a decade

The ending was kind of like the ending of the Roseanne finale oddly enough.

I took him being in the cave as he was exploring with his troop, hence the outfit, and heard screams coming from it. Like any young boy, he went to investigate and upon being shot he was filled with rage and decided to strike with a rock.
They totally set up for a prequel show about how the mind flayer stone came to be there.

Yeah. Hopper would be in a military prison. Right or wrong he killed more than a dozen soldiers.

I'd like to see the spin off of Hopper & Joyce in Montauk NJ. IYKYK.

Epilogue was great. The rest? Meh
Liked the epilogue for the most part. The final scene of the crew in the basement and Mike’s storytelling hit pretty hard. Wish we would’ve had a little flash of Murray, but that’s a small complaint. Didn’t really like Steve’s ending; the scene with the older kids on top of the radio station was nice I guess, but I hoped for more there somehow. Who hires a teacher/coach with no education, or a reporter for that matter? Does Jonathan really not see that his movie is just about the mind flayer; the thing that eats and is never satisfied? I guess Robin and the redhead broke up…
-Will lending a hand in the final battle with Vecna was good
-Glad they didn’t try to redeem Vecna
-Thought the actor playing Henry/V was A+; kid Henry was good too
-Joyce with the axe was OK I guess
- I thought the bench scene with Mike and Hopper was really well done
-Finn did his best acting in the epilogue, really the most his character had to work with. I’ll say I want to believe like the OG adventure party.
-Poor Mike is never going to be able to really move on
The not as good parts
-The Mind flayer went down like a bitch; I get they wanted everyone to have a hand in the win, but that’s was just laughably bad; let’s just run to this cliff a quarter mile away and scale either side in the next few seconds. I’m sure the 100 foot monster won’t get a hit on any of us.
-Glad they picked the right direction to randomly travel in the alternate dimension; at least give me a line from Will saying he felt it was that way or something
-Why is Will no longer hurt when plugged in? Because the story needs that to be the case! Ok then.
-Where’d the rock in the case come from? Who was the scientist in the cave? Seems like access to the abyss is available somewhere still.
-The Abyss and Upside Down just ran out of monsters I guess.
-So Dr K just let them all go and everyone just said C’est la vie? That’s interesting.
-Hopper has an M15 and can’t just shoot at the chopper with the speaker hovering right outside the window?
-All those kids and their families just gonna keep quiet?
Lots of nitpicks, but overall pretty satisfying ending based on where the previous episodes had led things. Pretty happy with the destination even if there were some really shitty pit stops along the way.

And where did all the demogorgons, demodogs and demobats run off to? Did they migrate to a different part of the Abyss?

Glad it ended with Mike at the core
The ending solidified for me that the story strayed to much away from the core DND group in the final season. All of the Holly, Karen, Kali, Jonathan and Nancy screen time was wasted.

I don’t know where to begin. Endings are never easy you build them up so much in your own head that they can never live up to the expectations.
This like scrubs was not one of them. What’s even more impressive with stranger things is with social media everyone now has a voice when that’s not how society was meant to be. Even if you make the perfect episode there will always be some people who say it’s the worst thing they have ever watched. Everyone has theories and stay up all night moaning and complaining on every scene instead of just enjoying the moment right in front of you. After episode 7 everyone including me had their concerns. Would they answer all the questions we’ve had since season 1 and would they land the ending which so many have failed to do in this day and age. There was not a dry eye in the movie theatre. If I had one complaint which was minimal It was that the vecna fight scene was short but when you have a sorcerer and a pissed off eleven fighting together it was so satisfying. The Joyce scene gave me goosebumps thinking about the shite she went thru since season 1 episode 1. I don’t remember a show that did music as well stranger things with their masterpiece theme song to heroes and running up that hill. How many hundreds of thousands of shows or movie tried to get prince music in them and failed. Not stranger things they pulled off the impossible and got master of puppets and now did the impossible and got not only one but 2 prince songs. Plus Fleetwood Mac. This was a not only a beautiful and emotional episode but it was a fricking masterpiece. Decades later when people talk about this show they will remember the beginning and ending. Congrats to that duffer brothers on giving us Stranger Things.

I don't think El is alive, feels like Mike was just saying that to make himself feel better.

Perfect time to bring this 1997 prince story up again at the plaza in Lafayette Louisiana. Seems fitting after tonight.

The last scene of stranger things
Because how did Mike and El meet in the void if El was affected by the machines?
And why would the machines clearly not pointed at the portal affect El?

I just didn’t get the sense they had this ending mapped out from the start of the series. Maybe them wrapping up a D&D game in the basement and closing the door but nothing else.

This. I don’t think he understood the ending.
