First of all Mike was waiting for El.
Second, do you think it's impossible for a white girl end up with a black guy? You're making it seem like it's some unrealistic and impossible scenario and they forced it in. Both Lucas and Dustin showed interest in her but Dustin ended up backing off. So it wasn't forced.
As I stated earlier in this thread, my best friend and I had almost the exact same scenario happen between us in high school (early nineties). Girl even had red hair. Black guy ended up with the white girl then too.

Was I the only person who got a Gremlins vibe from when Dustin first took in Dart and started keeping it and hiding it?
Absolutely not, and the fact that it didn't really like bright light and "changed" into something nasty

The whole thing was so SJW predictable. The scene at the dance where he walks away with the girl and the white boys are left holding their dicks and looking like losers had to make the progs squeal with delight.
Earlier on the series we got them arguing over Ghostbusters for another little race lesson.
this isn't the poli board
stop

That and a Lord of the Rings vibe, with Dart being his Precious.

I thought Bob's death scene had the same vibe as Gandalf's in Fellowship. Both seemed to have escaped danger, only to perish(kinda) and then the slow motion yelling and escape.

“No one wants to be Winston!” he says. “He joined the team super late, he’s not funny and he’s not even a scientist.”
I only took issue with the fact that Winston wasn't funny.
Winston is definitely funny in Ghostbusters.

I didn't get the LOTR vibes as much, but as soon as Bob stopped to take a break I knew he was a goner...

Just finished. Holy crap! They did it. Every bit as good as the first in my opinion. Is that the general consensus here?

The showdown between Steve and Rob Lowe’s twin was the stuff 80s dreams were made of. I was loving their cool dude showdown at the beginning of the altercation.

Just watched the both seasons, it was pretty good. Much worse series season two.

Just finished watching. I think I was a little more disappointed than most it seems. The biggest thing for me was that season 1 was fun and I enjoyed the characters. This season just about every character got on my nerves.
The Mike/El love story was annoying and Mike was a big time douche all season.
Dustin’s story arc was that he got into a romantic relationship with a dangerous creature.
Bob was clearly on the show just to die. And his death made him look incredibly stupid. Kind of in that same category, Joyce and Nance’s relationships were predictably going to end cause they weren’t with people the show told us last season they had chemistry with.
I completely disagree with people saying the woman playing Nance pulled off that drunk scene. I thought that was easily the worst acting of the season, and that character was just awful in general.
Last thing is I felt they tried way too hard to give every character dramatic scene after dramatic scene. It’s like they lost track of what made season 1 loved by everyone.

I’m glad you brought that up. She sounded just like Walt Jr in breaking bad to me. Anyone else notice that?

He never said “you can’t see him because he’s black”. Not saying it couldn’t be race related. But I think it’s kind of a stretch by some viewers.
It very well could be race related. But I took it as he was just a dick and tried to be controlling of his sister (which we find out that's how his dad is with him) and didn't want her having any fun. JMO

On the el episode. What the hell is this shite?
Posted on 11/2/17 at 7:22 am to Pedro
The only thing I got out of the El episode was that small town to big city vibe they put off. It showed the trouble and dangers she could get into with her power.
Hawkins and a big city like that in the 80's was so foreign to those people. It was scary!
I thought season 2 was fantastic.
The ending and Steve interaction with Dustin was classic.
Only thing I would have changed is El should have met up with kids during Halloween in disguise and the two new characters, Max could have been better developed and why was it necessary for Steve to get pummeled at the end. Was that him escaping his bad arse father who they only showed one time as abusive to him.

Seems to be the consensus feeling here. I figured it was a way to bring 008 into the picture if they want to expand more on her and the other "gifted kids" next season. In the process Eleven remembers where "Home" truly is.
If that wasn't their goal then IDK what the hell they were going for.

You might as well ask why it was necessary to sweep the leg. Billy is a total 80's douche.
