Dude is ostensibly a huge fan, so this is his passion project.
Might it include his politics? Maybe...probably, he's not the sole writer. But the impetus, the reason for making this isn't solely political, which was your assertion. Thus, leading me to believe, accurately, that your brain is cooked.

Fired comedy writer known for writing TV comedy crap and has zero MOVIE writing experience gets green lit to work with Peter Jackson on a garbage story that's supposed include stuff that wasn't in the movies and some made up journey never penned by Tolkien himself?
This is 1000% Hollywood's diss because of their deranged idea that Colbert was 'fired' for some imaginary free speech reasons which were never at all the issue. They think this'll be a dig at conservatives and Trump, which is 90 % of what drives current day projects.
