Actuals will be about 2 million higher. At least it's some good news

Two things:

Does Star Wars TROS make more than Frozen 2?

Does SWTROS make more globally than TFA Domestic only?

Not worldwide.

Probably. It'll be close.

My biggest gripe is that, it effectively felt like you ere missing an entire second act of the story, so this movie had to put a ton into it. So it felt like they were constantly encountering problems then having an immediate solution to move things along. The movie suffers from the timing, pacing, constantness of it.

It did seem to rush along in a lot of ways, but it kind of had to. The Last Jedi just fricked everything up so badly and TROS had to spend its own time undoing the bullshite. Overall, I enjoyed it. Of the 9 main storyline films, this one is easily in the top 4. It's a shame that it took 3 prequels and 3 sequels to finally make a decent movie that fit the motif.

Looks like all those great tracking and great presale numbers were misleading. As I was saying in that old thread. They worded that shite shady, while never giving true numbers.

My wife and I saw it at 9:20 on Saturday night and there were only 5 people in the first 3 rows.

Looks like 28.5 yesterday. I was hoping for 30, but still a solid number.

I still can't fathom how a company can spend this much money without having a story for all three from the beginning! That alone should get someone fired. How much did it cost to buy the rights and film the three movies total? Someone thought it would be a good idea to just wing it from movie to movie with that kind of investment? Crazy!

Pretty much every article on the Rise of Skywalker underwhelming Box Office, blames JJ retconning TLJ as the reason why fans who hated TLJ aren't showing up.

It is so tone deaf, so as to seem deliberate.

The game plan when these people screw up is to always double down on their efforts because we’re the idiots who are wrong. We’re not intellectual enough to understand TLJ.

I’m hoping for the smallest number possible.

Well, it sure as hell isn't the people complaining that Rose doesn't have enough screen time who have it at an 86 right now.

I'd be willing to bet that someone did have an outline, and I'd also bet it was't bad at all. I'm equally certain that the original outline was chopped up and mutilated by the 1000 producer, director, random suit, Chinese censor, etc. etc. etc. cooks in the kitchen.

And then you have shite like Keri Russell being in it. As a friend of JJ and Kathleen, she makes an appearance in return for .05 or whatever of the back end profits, so she'll end up making a few million for doing next to nothing. So the whole situation of her pointless character exists just for that reason, and adds itself to the pile of things cluttering up the plot.

I've seen this on a small scale, and I can't imagine how it was during the making of these three movies.

It's been holding at 7.0 on IMDB for a while. It was at 6.9 for the first couple of days, and hasn't moved much at all. It's either artificially held up or it's held up by the fact that this one doesn't suck quite as badly as the last one.

But to them, the only thing that matters is the $$$$$$ and they can't possibly be happy about what they're seeing.

Saw it today, there weren't many people in the theater. Its worse than TLJ in the sense that it was incredibly bland and had nothing memorable. TLJ was memorable, though not for good reasons. This movie will be forgotten in a few months.

Strong start to the holiday week. Should get a huge number today. 1 billion is pretty much locked.

$400 million Domestic is a lock. It will settle between $450-$500 Million Domestic. It will get $600mil or so Internationally.

Bob Iger needs to stop wasting his time on sending SW movies to China. They don’t get it and won’t get it.

I do wonder how the prevalence of things like Regal Unlimited and AMC’s Subscription thing will impact it’s box office along with the box office for movies moving forward.
