As I have said, something odd is happening on Rotten Tomatoes. There are an extreme amount of reviews that give it a .5

I clicked on those reviewers profile and they’re all newly created accounts.

Did this movie leave you feeling satisfied with your Star Wars craving?
Does this fit alongside the other movies (especially the OT)?
Did you immediately want to go see it again, upon leaving?
Are you now in a Can't Wait mode for the next film?

Meh, Kind of

Maybe more with the OT but it did not fit with TFA. Basically TFA is a pointless movie.

No

No

I really, really like TFA if that gives you an idea of how you may view it based on my answers

A plot is absolutely breathtaking. Intense, relevant, complex, and original.

The B plot helps to build the world out a little more, but is essentially pointless other than that, and really lengthens the movie as a result.

8/10. We’ll see if the B plot grows or gnaws on me in repeat viewings.

I was satisfied with Rey and Kylo... other things not as much.

I mean, kind of. I don’t know how to explain it.

No. If Episode IX was showing in the theater next door, I’d wait at least a week before seeing it so this film can digest.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie this polarizing

Some Star Wars fans love it, some hate it

Some think it's solid and others meh. This shite is all over the place

Thanks for replying to my request.

I've always viewed Star Wars as sort of a leap year type of holiday; it could be steaming dogshit (hasn't been so far, but just to clarify) and if it has the scroll and the John Williams score, I am instantly that 8 yr old kid who's watching THE BEST MOVIE EVER, in the moment. Such was the impact of the first film, and even the prequels filled me with excitement for a brief period. Even if the high doesn't last as long, it was there when I saw it.

I find it interesting that some people are coming out feeling less than exhilarated moments after the movie ends.
Now, a confession- during actual viewing, Empire was actually the biggest cause of dismay to me. I rejected Darth being Luke's father, Han being captured, and most of all- I had to wait 3 yrs to see what happened next. Star Wars didn't leave a cliffhanger.
In casual viewing now, I can simply pop the next film on, and the story continues... and Empire is great. But I was kinda pissed off coming out of the theater in 1980

Any chance the misgivings are similar to that? Or is it different?

Ya I'm just gonna go in to it with an open mind. I also tend to like movies most people don't, and vice-versa.

Seeing it tomorrow at noon in IMAX 3D

All i got to say for the people going to see it this weekend, i dont know why so many critics gave this movie praise. Im a huge star wars fan but this movie has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Its just not a good movie. I really wish they would finish this trilogy and let star wars be done. I liked TFA way more than whatever this is

Its steaming pile of shite?

That could turn out to be a good thing for the movie. I think people will watch it multiple times to see if it grows on them. I've already heard from several coworkers that they need to watch it again before rating the film.

Rotten Tomatoes audience reviews is being hit by bots or something.

I saw that. 62% ??

I refuse to believe it's that damn bad. You're trying to tell me Justice League got an 80% and TLJ has 62? The audience score is an even worse barometer than the critic meter

This movie was mostly bad. Like reallyyyy bad, especially for the serious Star Wars fan. It’s not that shocking.

I think people are overreacting.

There's no way it's Attack of the Clones bad. shite it has an 86 on Metacritic and it's more reliable than RT. But like you said I think it's going to be one of those movies that takes multiple viewings.

I'm going at 7 tonight. Maybe I'll hate it like Fox Mulder. We will see. I'm just surprised at the amount of pure hatred the film is getting. It seemed like the only flaws after Wednesday were the one liners and Finn and Rose

Deadline just released their data...

quote:

So what do fans think? ComScore/Screen Engine reports a mindblowing five-out-of-five stars for the movie and a 90% overall positive with an 82% definite recommend. Forty five percent said that the Rian Johnson-directed movie came in above their expectations while close to 40% said they’ll the movie again in the theater. Huge. Older men over 25 came out in droves at 44% followed by females over 25 (24%), men under 25 (22%), and females under 25 (10%). Today there’s only 1% K-12 out of school and 30% colleges on break, numbers which will explode to respectively 61% and 89% next Friday

Of those that have seen it, is the 3D worth it or no?

Never even heard of Com Score/Screen Engine.

Is that, like, legit?

Definitely. It's got it's flaws, but people are making it to be worse that it was. I still enjoyed it.

Yeah, I watched all the movies this week. I always forget how God awful that movie is. The only redeeming quality is the arena battle.

A lot of people hated on TFA for playing it too safe, and this one certainly doesn't do that. Just go into it with an open mind and you should be able to walk away with some enjoyment, even if the movie as a whole isn't perfect.
