As badly executed as the prequels were at least the bones of the story were good. Lucas didn’t screw up his universe by going stupidly over the top with stuff, or pushing political issues that supersede the story.
Sad thing is I had such high expectations of what Disney could do after Rogue One (I really like that one) but everything they’ve touched other than that diminished the franchise. Not just in a bad movie way, but in such a way it ruins that franchises story/universe. I’ve never seen a studio do this before, it’s sad and amazing at the same time. If that makes any sense.

Chinese not gonna like that. If they're all material, like Yoda was in the last one, it will really add to the overall suckness. Same thing goes with the "balance" bullshite.

No theyll be fine by the Chinese. They wont look very "ghost-like" because Disney will have them interact with the physical and they wont be translucent like in past movies. Disney is well aware that such a decision to make ghosts be ghosts could effect their bottom line in China and there's no way they'll allow that to happen.
Its important to note that every single decision Disney is making is about $ and royalties.
Dont like they killed off the OT characters so quick? They didnt want to pay Lucas royalties on using the characters. Notice how Luke was only in one really short scene at the end of TFA. I bet Disney had to pay royalties to Lucas for everytime they mentioned "Luke Skywalker" during the movie. So they planned the movie to have him in it as little as possible knowing hed eventually be killed off in 2 therefore minimizing his presence as much as possible.
Dont like the name of the rebellion becoming the resistance? Probably because they would have to pay Lucas royalties to call it "the rebellion".
Why are the force ghosts not transparent at all and also interacting with the physical? They dont want it to get banned in China because the Chinese do not allow movies about ghosts.
Why is Keri Russell a new Boba-Fett like character and why is the Mandalorian not about Boba-Fett? Because they'd have to pay Lucas royalties on that character.
You know it killed Disney to have to reuse OT characters to ATTEMPT to salvage this one (I thought it was unsalvageable no matter what).
Disney probably didnt use the Lucas script because they wanted to save a buck on paying royalties to him for the world and characters he created, which he probably had a lot of in his version of the story.
Notice there's almost no appearances of the many interesting non-human species from either the OT or prequels? Chewy may be the only character that is a familiar creature from past star wars movies. They did it to save money lol.
Look at all the command staff on the rebellion ships from TLJ, it's mostly female humans in charge, almost no other alien species.
Disney rushed into this and then tried to skimp by as much as possible on costs. They went cheap and its already fricked their long term outlook.
I dont acknowledge the ST as canon. It's far too bad and makes no sense so I wont accept it. It's that bad for me.

Honestly my hope is that Disney sells the IP at some point and the next owner removes the entire trilogy. It absolutely fricks everything.
They need to remove the movies from the entire star wars database.

No, it's pretty obvious why they're "the resistance." The "royalties" argument is just an excuse to cast blame elsewhere. They didn't have to include almost ALL of the OT characters, and they sure as hell didn't have to bring back someone like Palpatine. They need the OT characters because they don't have the ability to create new and interesting ones. Just look at the boring shite they did "create." They throw in a bunch of woke shite to make it look like they're SJW crusaders, and to hurl epithets at anyone who doesn't like it.

I’m honestly not concerned if these leaks are 100% true or not. The trilogy is trash and I will vote with my lack of giving them money on this one too. I didn’t see Solo in the theater and will do the same for this one and it feels weird not seeing one in the theater.
