Episode 4 is out. I watched it last night. I was a little worried about this one because of the black and white theme of the episode, and SNW’s affinity for gimmickry… but I thought it was a good episode overall.
It was shot well. It looked good in B&W.
A few hiccups in the story I didn’t really buy… but the secondary story was also interesting. La’An has discovered there’s more background activity going on under her nose on the Enterprise than she thought.

TBH, I didn't think E4 needed to be B&W. Also, the overall story was the weakest of this season. It was okay, but not anything special.
This season has become more gimmick-themed than the old fashion exploring strange new worlds.

I'm not a fan of Noir nostalgia and the away team was made up of three of the characters that I'm least interested in. The call-back to Casablanca was a bit too on-the-nose.
I'd've preferred a more straight-forward telling of that same story. An updated version of Errand of Mercy, where Kirk and Spock found themselves in a similar situation on a Klingon appropriated planet.
It felt like one of Picard's holodeck mysteries, and I hated those.

Yes, I don't mind her as a character but it annoys me every time she shows up now because they gave her a big death scene and then plot armored her out of it because they wanted to have it both ways.
I wish the writers on this show would stop trying to inject so much comedy. It's weak and there's way too much of it.

I’m a fan of a season long arc with stand alone episodes sprinkled in. I really liked the first two episodes but the last two have just been meh. The pleasure planet had some funny moments but just kind of fell flat overall. The noir episode had some decent scenes but I didn’t find the overall story that interesting.

No..She's related to Khan Noonien Singh
There was an episode last season where she and Kirk when back in time and had to choose not to kill little boy Khan

I thought the episode was allright. The one complaint I have besides too many comedic and colorful episodes is the casting of James T. Kirk. I think the actor they chose is too neutered for the character. He is not physically or emotionally muscular enough for Kirk. Kirk's default setting was always more reserved and masculine and the lightness and vulnerability seeped out little by little. This actor is just a little too light and breezy for my liking. Not enough steel.

Today’s episode was a miss for me. It’s been done before and, much worse, it was boring. Just a waste that did nothing to move anything forward.

This week’s episode is a good return to old school Star Trek, with near every cast member having a part, and a great shout out to Dewey Cox.
I was thinking that M’Benga and Chapel’s drama was going to lead to McCoy coming on board, but we got another original series character.
Hoping they can finish on all cylinders and not revert to gimmicks.

It needed less Soap Opera and more Q/Trelain. Not as horrible as the puppet episode, but meh.

S4 has been terrible. It was so damn good and best Trek in a long time. I have no clue what they’re trying to do now.

This was not as bad as I thought it would be. It had a few moments. But overall… it’s just more of the theater kids take on Trek.
The producer decision to force different themes on every episode this season is a giant misstep. The theme they need to emulate is Star Trek. Still kind of waiting on that to happen.

frick the people making this show with a splintery broomhandle. Im irrationally angry I waste my time watching this show.
