I really liked season 1 of Battlestar Galactica.

Sloflo was particularly insufferable during that season.
Funny how a little time passes and everyone reconsiders their position.
IIRC he called it out early as a character study rather than whodunit mystery and that we'd be let down by the ending, and many of us were.
I rewatched recently and enjoyed it more the second time around, but the last few episodes really tailed off.

GoT season 4 was peak experience

Freaks and Geeks, season 1.
Not a popular take, but the reverence people have for this show is skewed based on what the cast and creator would eventually accomplish more than what they accomplished while on this show.

The Office Season 4 should’ve been the greatest sitcom season of all time. Finally get Jim and Pam together? Start the season off with that? Nope, hit Meridith with a car and have Dwight euthanize Angela’s cat by freezing it to death. Ryan at corporate was great, and BJ was obviously having fun with it. But the writers strike robbed us of that momentum. Remember, they went on hiatus with The Deposition and returned with Dinner Party. Only 14 episodes that year. What a shame.

I can definitely say that’s not true for me. I remember watching that show when it aired and understanding how awesome it was. And that was long before anybody involved was famous or accomplished. It’s objectively a good show IMO.

Season 4 of Homeland
Homeland Season 4 on Prime (w/Shoetime sub.)

Carrie is working as CIA station chief in Kabul, Afghanistan, and later in Islamabad, Pakistan. She oversees a botched drone strike on the suspected location of terrorist mastermind Haissam Haqqani, which causes strife within the CIA and provokes the extremely dangerous terrorist. Carrie recruits a young asset in an attempt to track down Haqqani. Information provided to the Pakistanis by a disgruntled American leads to disastrous results.

A big one I don’t see mentioned as of now is Dark Angel Season 1, which hit the ground running with a dystopian used-future with Jennifer Alba’s arse in a catsuit.
The whole season built to a great season finale… and it all fell apart in the next season when they completely changed the direction of the show with roving gangs of mutants in Seattle.

Any early season of Office

Not the best, some of my first choices were already mentioned, but the first season of TWD was incredible TV, obviously it fell off hard after the first few seasons.

Most that I would choose have already been mentioned. I'll add Rectify Season 1 to the mix. That was some damned fine television.
